When I first got my chrome nails done at Sylvia's I was happy with the results. I was not happy when one of my nails had already broken only 4 days later. The gel was applied so thin that the nails were super fragile and easy to break. I went in to get my free nail repair, which I had called in advance for to make an appointment, and they still had to squeeze me in between the other appointments they had scheduled for the same time. My repair was rushed and multiple mistakes were made, which were not fixed due to the fact that they did not have time to do them properly. Even with lack of time, the lady doing my nails had enough time to go to Tim Horton's in the middle of my repair while I sat there with half my nail repair complete. My repaired nail was cut much shorter than the rest and was given a completely different shape. The paint job was rushed and not neat, and also the chrome had to be redone as it was ruined the first time. The gel had also been applied onto my cuticle so when my nails grew out, it ripped the cuticle off too. I was upset when only 2 days after I had my nail repaired, the colour had fallen off of another nail and less than 24 hours later the entire tip had broken off. For $70 they should be better quality than what I got. Not to mention, the racial comments that came from the ladies working there made the entire experience very uncomfortable. Save your time and your money and go to a salon that actually knows what they are doing. I have not had these issues before at other locations and will not be returning.

I don't even know where to begin, I read all the reviews before coming to this salon for a nail refill thinking that since this salon has been around for so long and so many customers had been coming here, I though it was great. But NO. Look at the photo I have attached. The photos on the left were my nails when I got them done today, if you look carefully, it is bulky, lumpy, uneven and horrible looking. A woman in her mid 20s did this for me (i didn't catch her name). I was extremely upset with the result that on the SAME DAY, an hour later I went to another salon to get my nails redone. The new nails are on the right. Maybe I sat down with someone unexperienced because this was just horrible. The girl who worked on my nails put a gel on my nail UNEVENLY and dumped powder over it which made it look chunky. She didn't bother filling up the gap where my nails were grown out...i am very disappointed that I spent $50 on these horrible looking nails, and another $50 just so I don't have to stick with them. Just look at the difference in the pictures, honestly, those people who rated this 5 stars, got lucky with good nail technicians. I normally don't rant or do long posts, but I regret coming here and wasting my money.

My mother has been going here since she was in her mid twenties so as a child I was brought here a lot, great atmosphere lovely people Lisa, Caroline and Dianne are amazing I would definitely give them a call if you need nails or other beauty services

The services provided are extremely professional and the salon is spotless . Staff very friendly and will defiantly return. Thank you ladies for a wonderful experience.

SUBJECT; CHROME NAILS - I am so pleased with my end result, that I have the need to share this with who ever is searching for a professional nail salon in Oshawa. The gift of aging is truly a gift, so I don't take life for granted. So now that its ME time, which most of you gifted woman will understand, I expect that when I go out and treat myself that I deserve the BEST there is.Well Sylvia's is THE BEST THERE IS by far. I have visited a number of Nail Salons in the Durham Region over the years. The staff at Sylvia's are all fun, courteous and willing to provide you with exceptional service. Hence the reason for me sharing this with you today. I am going to try and attach a picture so you can see the amazing end product!. Cheers Everyone!.....P.S.
