Chinook K9

These trainers are the best. We have tried other trainers in the past and without success with our two dogs. Dylan helped us and our dog reduce anxiety and reactivity. Gave us more confidence in our ability to be a leader with our dogs. I highly highly recommend Chinook K9 for anyone struggling to understand how to be with their dog and increase their level of confidence as an owner. Thanks so much Dylan, you changed our lives and that of our precious dogs.

Chinook K9 was recommended to us from our local Pet Planet. We had just rescued a dog from Cochrane Humane society. She was very friendly with people, but extremely aggressive with other dogs. We did the in-person training sessions. There were immediate results after our first session without the use of “pain / force tools”, simply energy work and using the spatial environment between us. It was asmuch training for Zena as it was training for us. For us to learn the proper way to handle and educate our dog. We now have the confidence to walk our dog in public places around other dogs and distractions. We also enjoy greatly the monthly pack walks provided by Chinook K9 for current and past clients. A fantastic way to touch base with anything to ask Dylan and Robyn with and meet like minded dog parents. I highly recommend dog training from Chinook K9. Thank you again Dylan and Robyn

I couldn't recommend Chinook K9 enough!I adopted Chief about 6 months ago and needed a lot of help. He struggled with jumping, nipping, crate-training, leash manners, and reactivity to every dog and people. I tried my best and spent a decent chunk of money on trainers. However, it didn't seem to work and I eventually got really fed up with walking Chief at 6 AM or 10 - 11 PM just to avoid people or other dogs. That's when I reached out to Chinook K9 and Robyn was extremely cool and understanding.I booked Chief for 3 weeks of board-and-train in December. Robyn and Dylan were happy to accommodate me as I was out of the country and couldn't attend the mid-way lesson. When I came back, I couldn't be happier leaving Chief in their care and training. The progress Chief made in 3 weeks was nothing short but astonishing. Since picking Chief up and attending a go-home lesson with Dylan about a day ago, I took Chief out on multiple walks (1.5 - 2 hours each) and he walked like a dream with minimal reactivity. He has been significantly calmer and all of his commands are extremely solid! Additionally, he's been wonderful off-leash as well.From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to the Chinook K9 team! I can't wait to take Chief to places and really show him a life he truly deserves.

Thanks so much to Dylan and Robyn at Chinook K9! I put Scruffs in a 3-week board and train program while I was away for work and he learned so much with them! He was struggling with confidence, being left alone, and learning how to interact with other dogs.Since the training I have received so many compliments on his training. It's also helped our dog-owner relationship so much to be able to work together, let him walk off-leash, and have him listen so much better. Thanks again!

Wow! Can't explain how grateful I am for the trainers at Chinook K9.I struggled to take my dog anywhere, he is friendly but reactive to other dogs, humans, sounds. Additionally, he would choke himself walking on a leash. It was a nightmare! I felt as if I couldn't take him anywhere. I tried every technique to train him on my own.I also had a different trainer attempt to correct his behaviours. I finally accepted that he needed one on one board and train.I never left my dog alone with any trainer or boarding for a long period of time, I was initially nervous. I wondered whether or not this would work for him!I was pleasantly shocked and amazed at my dogs behaviour changes. I brought him home a few weeks ago, and I take him to as many places as possible to practice. Recently we had an out of control/untrained dog greet my dog in public. My dog was perfectly calm and obedient to my commands. Compared to a few months ago, my dog would have been out of control, running around, not listening to me...etc. That's when I knew the training had worked!Shout out to Chinook K9 trainers (Robyn and Andrew). You guys helped me change the relationship dynamic to tremendously positive with my dog. For that, I am truly one of your biggest fans. Fin thanks you also :)

The team at Chinook K9 is incredible. They went above and beyond at every step of the way. Andrew (Robyn and Dylan) truly changed my life and my dogs life. I had a very reactive German shepherd, it was difficult to control him on walks and in daily life. I never imagined I would be able to take him into a store with me and have him able to walk off leash, both of which were accomplished by the end of his board and train. If you feel like you are at a place of no return with your dogs behaviour I urge you to reach out to Chinook K9. I truly feel like they worked magic for me. I am beyond grateful for the control and freedom they gave me with my dog. I would give 10000 star rating if that was an option!!!! ❤️I also want to mention how incredibly patient Andrew was when teaching us how to continue the training. Cannot recommend Chinook K9 enough! Prior to his 4 week board & train Opie was so reactive I struggled to even bring him out of my apartment, or walk around our very quiet neighbourhood. We wouldn't dare go back to a dog park, or even a public park on leash, even hiking with him was difficult. His reactivity left both of us without much freedom.Reactivity was the biggest issue but Opie also struggled with resource guarding and general manners/obedience.When I found Chinook K-9 I was at a loss as to how to move forward with Opie - from the get go Robyn was very helpful and reassured me that the team at Chinook K-9 could help to get freedom back for me and Opie. When I met Dyan & Andrew on drop-off day, they were just as helpful, making sure I felt comfortable leaving Opie & understanding the issues we were having.The team was supportive throughout Opie's stay at Chinook K-9, making sure I knew how he was progressing - seeing him on their Instagram helped being away from him for so long - but I was confident he was in good hands.Since completing his board & train program, I am beyond impressed with Chinook K-9. Within days of being home we were able to go to public parks, spend time off leash and be able to enjoy going out together. No more anxiety about leaving the apartment with him, no more pulling, lunging or barking at everyone and everything.Opie is still the same affectionate dog he always , but also a much more confident, with much better manners all around. I is hard to believe just 4 weeks ago we were afraid to go out.Chinook K-9 has given us our freedom back and I cannot thank them enough!

We have German Shepherd pup Loki who needs major training. As first time dog owners, Dylan gave us tons of information about the breed and how to be a good dog owners.The program includes the tools needed for training, go home and follow up session. Not only provided the needed training for the dog, but also for us, owners too which is more important in the long run.Now, we were able to go for hikes stressed-free and can be able to roam around town with Loki nicely.Until now, we use their services for boarding if we need someone to look out for our pup when we are out of town.We 100% recommend this training facility to every single dog owners who are struggling on dog behavioural problems.

After some scary incidents with our husky getting out and some general obedience issues we were recommended to Chinook K9. We sent her for their 3 week Board and Train program and we are so happy with the results. Our trainer was Andrew. We feel like our pup is safer, has more freedom and her sweet demeanor is overall able to shine through a lot more. If you had told me before this program I would be taking our husky for off leash walks I would have thought you were crazy! But now we can give her that freedom as we know her listening and recall are on point. Thank you Chinook K9!

I would recommend Chinook K9 over and over again! After taking my dog, Wrenley to multiple other trainers with no result I did some research and found Chinook K9, the phone consult went great and Robyn was so friendly and helpful. We decided a 5 week board and train would be best for Wrenley to address her severe food aggression towards our other animals. After completing the board and train I can comfortably feed Wrenley with our cats around her while eating and not have to worry about anything happening, which is something I never thought would have been possible before Chinook K9. Everything else she learnt during her time there is such a bonus as well! We couldn’t be happier with the results!! All the staff is so friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. (:
