I will not deal with the Montague store, insanely rude people work at the Montague store. The Charlottetown store is the opposite, amazing staff. Thank you for being kind and competent.

I had my flooring come apart that was purchased here. They came out claimed it wasn’t their issue. Didn’t care at all. Zero help. Wouldn’t even reply to my last email. I will never shop here again.

It’s always really hard to find someone to help you. On one occasion we waited for 20 minutes at the paint counter. When I went to find an employee I found 5 sitting on boxes at the front of the store having conversation. Another time we were checking out & there was a girl ringing us through & another employee & they had a full conversation as if we weren’t even there throughout the whole process. No “did you find everything you were looking for”? No “thanks for shopping at Kent” just whatever they were talking about & completely ignoring our existence, it was VERY unprofessional. The last time we were there, there was a gentleman that spoke to us about counter top & he was very helpful & friendly but other than him, no other employee has ever been helpful. We are in the middle of renovations so unfortunately we do have to resort to shopping at Kent but as a last resort. We always try to have our needs met at Home Depot & Timber mart first.

Placed an online order, and recieved a confirmation that the order was ready for pick up. My dad went to pick up the order and it was not ready.He waited for them to pick the order, and they gave him the incorrect product.He had to go back and have it switched out for the right product. They gave him the wrong product AGAIN.I went with him the 3rd time, with the description from the website for the product I paid for only to find out they don't have it and the website was wrong. So I proceeded to get a refund and they told me it would take 4-5 days to process. They don't even do refund right away. The only thing I have to show the refund in my receipt with the item circled and written Returned"Come on

A few years ago I posted a five-star review because I had some very good service several times by a few young fellows that worked at Kent at the time. Now I'm deleting that five star review and submitting a one-star review. (with some caveats)I recently ordered a large lumber order for delivery. The delivery driver was great and honestly I don't want this review to reflect him in any way. I've also had fairly good service in the lumber yard itself various times.Now for the reason I'm submitting such a negative review.I've been using my lumber to build a 12x16 shed. One complaint although minor is that Kent sent the wrong size 2x4s when I had ordered full 8 ft studs. It's only a minor problem and really not something I would submit a review about since it was rectified. It was inconvenient but not enough for me to complain.Much of the lumber I received in my order was very bent, crooked, and cracked. I made no plans of complaining and I was just going to kind of bear with it. I ordered a surplus so my shed would be fine even if I had to pick through and toss quite a few aside. I still had no intention of complaining or submitting a negative review.That was until today when I received an email asking for a review on multiple products that I had ordered. I'd already gotten an email for the same thing and now this was my second. I decided I would write a review on a few products commenting on how bad the quality control was and how some of the lumber was very poor quality. Basically I stated something similar to what I've put here and for whatever reason Kent has moderated my review. Suspiciously it did not meet their standards. That screams of moderating out bad reviews. So now I post one here in the hopes that other people will see how dishonest such a practice is.The review system only works if you're allowed to post both negative and positive reviews. Shame on Kent for this.

Everytime you go to pay for your item there's always an issue. There's no price tag, no upc code, the price is wrong, the cashier wants the customer to go back and take a picture of the price tag. Always something. Items are priced wrong all the time then they try arguing with you that it's not their fault. Started going to home depot, great experience there. I Need to provide an update: was in last week, for someone else, and was once again to go back to where I got the item and take a picture of the UPC code. Seriously Kent. What a joke. Will never be back

Thank you to Nicholai and his team at Kent Building Chtown! They have been more than helpful in some big purchases lately.I bought a 12’ Xmas tree, they took it down, helped me put it in the car, really easy guys to deal with. went back today for an HVAC, same things again. Real good communication between all those guys to help customers. Nice change than others stores where you are on your own and staff don’t know their products… Excellent hiring Jim! Tks!

Purchased a tow behind fertilizer spreader and upon opening the box (at home) discovered there were missing parts. In conjunction the gear box (which is sealed and installed at the factory) was installed in reverse.I returned the item with the missing parts circled on the instruction sheet and explained the situation. To cut a long story short the clerk began COUNTING the miscellaneous nuts, bolts, etc. in order to confirm" what I was saying. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. She said "it's not that I don't believe you..." and tailed off.Funny thing is there was another spreader of the same make

I bought countertops at Kent and had a contractor measure and install, but Kent did the cutting of the countertops; at Kent's request, before cutting the countertops, a cardboard template was made of the counter top (by my contractor) due to flaws in the wall structure. The counter top person at Kent came out to ensure the template fit, which it did. Then he cut the countertop, and it didn't fit on installation. The problem, as I see it, is with the cutting. Kent refuses to take any responsibility for their error. A friend of mine had countertops installed by Kent and it took them 5 times to get it right. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Kent Building Supplies since 2018 renovating my cottage, so I have been a good, loyal customer. For the sake of a $200 piece of countertop, you'd think they might offer to ty it again, or refund me or something! No accountability, no apology, and no compensation. This issue with my countertops has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
