Great museum to visit. It's informative, fun and interactive.I was impressed by the stone at the entrance. And by a Sumerian tablet from 5000+ BC! Great collection of artifacts. I've learnt a lot. It's a very cool place. Not giving 5 stars as the loud game music took away from the experience.

Hands down this is the best museum in Ottawa. Really well developed programming and really no astroturfing of political nonsense that is common in the other big galleries. Some of the exhibits are built around essential lessons for money and the economy - they should be taught in every school across the country and not reserved just for Ottawa.

It was free entry to the museum.Lots of interactive display which is good for kids and adults. The Bank of Canada Museum, located in Ottawa, offers an educational and interactive experience that explores the history and functions of the central bank of Canada. The museum offers a range of exhibits that cover various aspects of the Bank of Canada's work. These exhibits may include displays on the history of money, the design and production of banknotes, the importance of monetary stability, and the role of the bank in promoting a safe and sound financial system.

I went with a group of friends on May 22nd. The staff members are welcoming and they have an impressive level of knowledge. You can tell that they enjoy teaching. Towards the end of our tour, a staff member approached us. He invited us to a table that has physical money from different historical periods. He had some artifacts on hand that he let us hold. He was asking us engaging questions about how these different trading methods made sense in those time periods. He guided us to the correct answers without simply reciting a bunch of facts. He handed us a heavy dark green tablet with some engravings on it. He asked us what it could be made out of and why it would be valuable as a method of payment. The answer was surprising. A memorable learning experience for all ages.

The exhibit for kids on money was fantastic. Kids of all ages and interests would appreciate it. The permanent section is neat but definitely geared towards older children and adults, those who are interested in currency and coins. Many great coin specimens to see and an interactive system to search the history.

This is a very digital and pleasant museum - extremely friendly staff. It's a smaller museum - takes an hour or less - so it's a nice stop during your day downtown. The entrance is in one of the triangles on bank street. It has a lot of digital interaction with Avatar bracelets - I wish there was more history, factoids and nuggets of information on the cards/signs in the museum. Great for kids - stroller friendly - even has a kids scavenger hunt and a coloring spot. Worth a stop!

The challenge has been met! Our two teenage daughters enjoyed it very much, although one of them was not at all drawn to the subject at first. A good overview without going into details. It is much more than ancient coins. Very interactive. We'll keep the interest until then. Allow 2 hours. We duly did the tour in 1h30 and it was a little tight. Since it's free and a stone's throw from the parliament, why not at least give it a try? Note that there may be confusion with visits to the Royal Canadian Mint, which we did not have time to visit and compare.

Nice free museum near parliament hill. You do learn about how money works in a fun and interactive way via and interactive bracelet that they give you. It took me about 45 min to complete. I would probably give it an hour.
