Boucanerie Chelsea Smokehouse

The only dedicated seafood smokehouse in the region, it has everything you need to assemble a decadent meal. The fish and seafood that is smoked in house includes salmon, trout, scallops (my favourite!), sturgeon, shrip and tuna. The Boucanerie also has an excellent selection of wines, beers, ciders, terrines, cheeses, pickles and cured meats, as well as some frozen prepared food and other dry goods.

Service was bery good and the smoked salmon is very good

I wish I could give more stars but we gave this place many tries over the last years and it just does not hit the spot anymore. I still suggest people to give it a try as everyone has their own taste&preferences, and I find it important to support local businesses. Firstly, there is a great selection of unique products that you will most likely not find in your regular grocery store - all is neatly arranged and the store is clean. What we liked most the last couple times, although we wouldn't repurchase again, were the crab and smoked cod cakes and hot smoked salmon. Our least favorites were the sliced Atlantic smoked salmon, smoked salmon potato/leek cakes, smoked salmon jerky and salmon tartinade. The latter had an overwhelming taste of citrus, perhaps lemon - it's all we could taste. Finally, the female staff employee always appeared annoyed when asked for any help or information. We will sadly not be coming back, which is so unfortunate, as we were regulars for decades before.

Great selection of top notch foods; a bit pricy but what isn't these days?

I have been looking for a place where I can buy hot smoked fish and this is the one! If you’re like me, look no further. They have absolutely delicious products! Totally worth the drive from Ottawa. Highly recommend their maple glazed hot smoked salmon, it’s just incredible.

Wow what a great selection of the finest smoked delights. Not all seafood but almost. A nice selection of treats to go with your seafood. Very friendly staff.

The absolute BEST smoked salmon and smoked trout!We also treated ourselves to their crab and cod cakes - well seasoned, moist and delectable!We intend to try something different every time we go in.CHEERS!
