I had to stay at this shelter back in 2016 so this review might be a bit dated, but it’s worth sharing anyways.I came here after being pushed out of my home due to coming out. The staff that worked there at the time were caring, understanding and respectful of my identity. The fact that after everything I had been through, I was finally allowed to be myself and felt protected was a breath of fresh air. All that weight was finally lifted and I was able to focus on my future in a positive way.To any of the staff that used to work there, please know how absolutely grateful I am for the protection and love you gave me.To anyone who maybe staying there right now, remember that this is just temporary and that good things will come your way. Push forward and keep loving yourself.

They are mean to the kids do not provide proper food or meals starve them and punish them by taking away meals this is a house of neglect and abuse ... fake cheese and ranch sauce on bread is NOT FOOD. What the actual hell is wrong with this place these are fkn youth GROWING and u punish them by taking away food. This place is cruel to youth the only good it offers is somewhere safe to sleep....

Great place to call home for a bit; provides great supports and services. Definitely suggest it for youths.

It helped me out when in need of housing

The staff coordinator tried to start a FWB relationship with me and the person in charge of the schooling program told menobody feels sorry for you". I sincerely hope they have new staff because this place was so DISTURBED."

The staff here (year 2020) are really nice so long as you don't push them. If you have nowhere else to go and/or need a safe place then don't hesitate to call them and see if they have space for you. Even if they don't have space, you won't be turned away empty handed if you are hungry or feeling cold.

Being a previous resident in the shelter, the staff are great and don't be afraid to ask questions. They are there to help. Advice for staying in that particular shelter is yes the environment is welcoming, great food of a 3 course meal, lunches aren't the best all the time but at least a lunch is given. Do not tell the other residents in the shelter too much about yourself otherwise you may end up in a situation you wish you weren't in. There are daily chores for each resident that reside in the house. Not everyone is the same. Every one will have a different experience, don't be afraid to go to the shelter if you must.

Staff there are more than willing to help people in need. The person has to be willing to put in the work too. Had only positive experiences with the staff there. Been working with them closely supporting others in the community, definitely better run than places like cornerstone.
