My go to for all things autism. Respite, camps, sibling groups and all 1:1 ratio. Safe, clean, positive, just the most helpful and wonderful place! Many updates for covid but very safe and sanitized.

We have used the services of Children at Risk for the past 14 years and the summer camp since it began in 2011. The staff and workers are all extremely professional and caring. We have always felt that our child was safe and well cared for in any of the programs offered by Children at Risk. The charity receives their funding through fundraising efforts. This often involves long hours and the recruitment of many volunteers. This allows the programs to be offered at a subsidized rate, so many families can benefit from the programs offered.I could not be more pleased with the fantastic service provided by Brenda, Bambina, Hazel and all the other staff.

CAR is an amazing organization - one that provides a critical service to the autism community in Ottawa. Their staff is qualified, professional, enthusiastic and always looking out for the best interests of our children. Highly recommend Camp Kaleidoscope, Saturday Fun Club, and all of the activities that CAR hosts.

Our grandsons have been attending Children at Risk events for the past eight years. Camp Kaleidoscope is the highlight of their summer. The camp staff are well trained and totally engaged and connected with the kids. The office staff are professional and courteous. I continually recommend this camp to everyone I meet who has a child on the spectrum.

I have been very pleased with the various services provided by Children at Risk. The staff are very knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Not only did my son have fun while learning valuable social skills, he made new friends. On several occasions he made play dates" outside of the program with his new buddy

June 28 and camp details have not been confirmed it adds undue stress to families to not be able to schedule around summer camp. This will be our last summer. For the amount it costs we would’ve been better to just pay somebody privately.

Please do not send your children here. The people who run this place are some of the most money hungry people I have ever encountered who pry off of our children's disabilities. They are threatening, rude and most importantly not qualified in my opinion to be taking care of our vulnerable children. The 'counsellers' assigned to care for the kids are the fun clubs are teenagers, most of whom look like they have no desire to be there and lake empathy towards the kids. I can't believe the amount of good reviews after experiencing what I did.

I have been involved with CAR for many, many years with my 2 Autistic boys. Brenda, Bambina, Hazel and the rest of the CAR staff are wonderful! Both boys love their summer camps and March Break camp. My youngest also regularly attends the Saturday Fun Club. We have even had our typical daughter at their Date Night where they look after all siblings so Mom and Dad can get a break. Teaching and looking after Autistic children is no small feat, and I commend the work that they all do there. I always recommend CAR to anyone looking for Autistic support as they offer a lot more than just 1:1 camp care - they now also offer a 2 times a week food bank, and when Covid wasn’t around we also received many free tickets to Senators games, 67’s even great concerts like a Keith Urban, Michael Bublé and floor seats to Corey Hart! Will always recommend Children at Risk - check them out, you’ll be glad that you did.

These people are amazing! They have Summer day camps and the rest of the year they have biweekly day camps for kids with disabilitiesThey provide 1 to 1 supervision for my son who has autism he is 6'7 and they not intimidated. They know how to handle all situations and very rarely call us if he is having an "off" day. They just know what to do. All the councilors say Hi to him by name when he arrives. They are very patient with parents who are not always nice or patient. I could go on for pages with examples of how fantastic they are and would struggle to list any problems."

The staff there are money hungry, and unprofessional. I paid 800 + dollars for my child to go to camp there, and expressed to Brenda I didn't like how everyone there already had their hands in my pocket before the money had even entered my account. Brenda freaked out on me, and I left upset. And then had three failed attempts to break into my email a hour after or so. I then get an email stating that even though my child has already been paid for my child can't go. So why take my money then? And then when I show up to get the money back because 800+ dollars isn't cheap they refuse to pay it directly to me. I got the police there, but there wasn't much they could do as the check had been sent back. They talked behind my back with my child's ASD worker all unprofessional as I hadn't signed anything. I had to fight for the money back to get my child in a different camp. Because of them not refunding my money directly my child almost didn't attend camp. When I asked for higher up then Brenda she refused to give me a name. And they won't stop emailing me. They are all hungry for money, and dont care about the kids. The camp councilors do and are wonferful, but not the in office employees. I never once received an apology, nor did I get a higher up name.
