CDF Audio - Coup de Foudre

Nobody answers emails there anymore? Ghosting much? Asked if they’ll be attending the Montreal Audio Fest in March. No reply from both “administrators“ [a Graeme and a Jennifer]. A DM was also sent on their FB page [Graeme]. Unanswered also. What kind of “business“ disregard potential clients? No wonder online businesses are thriving! Phew! (!!!). [eyes rolling]. °_°

And now for something completely different. If you love music please do your self a favour and visit CDF Audio.Leave, at the door any preconceived audiophile dogma you might of gathered over the years, listen to what they have to say and let your heart melt as you rediscover your emotional connection to music. Graeme and Jennifer will go out of their way to assist with your quest, they are friendly, efficient and above all passionate about music. Can't recommend this oasis of music highly enough.

Since a few years Coup de Foudre is my reference audio store. I find that they stand out from the others because they find the most musical products out there. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fun, great sounding and, most importantly, musical sound system.

I entrusted a vintage integrated tube amp to Graeme at Coup de Foudre to find and repair a mysterious noise that had suddenly developed. He reassured me that between himself and his tech, they would succeed. The work was accomplished quickly, within a week, and for a very reasonable fee. Beautiful store, refined sensibilities and great music as well. Thanks CDF!

My mother has a Xerxes turntable and was told that it couldn't be fixed. She called me quite upset and I immediately thought of Graeme at CDF Audio because if anyone can fix it, Graeme can. No surprise at all, it took him a day to find the problem and fix it. Thank you, Graeme and the CDF Audio Team, you're the best!

I find that whether you buy a 20$ adapter, a pair of headphones for 400$ or a set of speakers for 20000$ every customer are treated equally and that's very rare. I walked into the store thinking that I was going to get poor customer service because I am young and don't look rich at all.Instead the owner of the store spent a good 30 minutes talking with me about the different products. Was happy to allow me to listen to headphones and answered my questions.I will definitely come back and buy more Grado products as well as some speakers and an amp later on in life. Probably many other things as well.To my opinion this is the best high end store in montreal. (I visited several and did some business with at least 5 stores before I found this one).

This is THE place to gear up for home listening. They're serious about music from start to finish. Graeme is an excellent jazz guitarist and accomplished recording engineer in his own right, so he knows what music is supposed to sound like and how to make it happen. The low power / high efficiency paradigm for their product line is working. Just put together a tube-based vinyl rig and it plays like a dream. Go in and listen for yourself.

Some 7 years ago, i showed up at this store (then on Bleury street), demanding (not asking) to be proven wrong about HiFi/Audiophile Utopian audio quality. The guys at CDF looked at me with a bit of a smirk and proceeded to change my perception of what is Audio, Quality and Generosity.Today, some 7 years later, i frequent the store on a near weekly basis. I have completely changed my audio equipment and the way i listen to music; at very little expense i should add, thanks to the guys many recommendation (they have always recommended what is just for me, not what is expensive or trendy). We've been through a lot, my equipment and i: Broken Speakers, manufacture defects, crushed cartrige... Graeme, Jennifer, Eric and Danny (that's the CDF crew btw) always welcomed me with open arms and smile. They helped me understand, fix and appreciate what i now have.It is always a pleasure to be there; exchange about components, music or just sit down to list to something new, or old (and tattooed ;).Thanks guys for making my world, so much better!I am, and have been, a very happy customer, all these years. Here's to the next few.

Graeme and Jennifer are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable (and outspoken) about all things audio and music. They spend the time with you regarding what you are looking for in choosing audio equipment. They want you to listen and do not rush you.. They are not interested in the quick sale" but rather seek to build a long term relationship that addresses your needs. Excellent experience. Very highly recommended!"

In a time where service is a thing of the past at retail, Coup de Foudre is a breath of fresh air. Incredible staff, amazing products and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay foreverI purchased my speakers there, and couldn't be happier. I also had my turntable serviced , and the cartridge and stylus upgraded to a Grado sliver...and now my Yamaha from the 70's SINGS AGAIN!! I am definitely a client for life, and would advise you to pay them a visit...you will become one too!Jason
