We gave Shelley a big challenge and she, as the design professional that she is, really delivered a wonderful home for us. My husband and I had lived in our large family & kid friendly home for over 25 years and raised our three children there. We were ready to downsize to a small upscale new-build condo. On top of that we each had different style preferences. My husband preferred very traditional and I preferred a more contemporary look. Shelley worked with us every step of the way for over a year while our condo was being built. She helped us to decide which of the pieces that we already owned would move to the new home and which to let go for someone else to love.In selecting new furniture, lighting fixtures or hard surface finishes, her advice was invaluable. She has insight into build, design, style, comfort, texture, colour and durability. She also gave her expert advice on which pieces not to skimp on price and on which ones we could save some money. She always kept our budget in mind. In our new home, that we both love, we have some beloved pieces that have been with us for many years or have been collected on our travels and some wonderful and unique new pieces. When our guests come into our home for the first time, without exception, the word that they have for us is WOW!

In Shelley's consultation, she helped us keep moving with some good ideas on the renovation in the kitchen of our house. She went over all the details we wanted to include in the space and suggested a perfect floor plan. She was able to work with our existing kitchen and add a mud room and a storage space. She provided us several drawings showing us the concept she created of a chef's kitchen. It was a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed working with her.

I needed new kitchen cabinet doors and drawer faces for a remodel of my kitchen island.Shelley was very helpful in getting what I needed from the Cabinet makers. Shelley Scales Design Associates renovated the kitchen and family room, two bathrooms and the guest suite in our home in three separate projects. She also did a complete redesign and renovation of a one-bedroom condominium for us. We were extremely happy with the results of all of these projects. The condo was sold last year and the renovation was a major factor in the quick sale and premium price which resulted. Shelley has a natural talent for design and is extremely knowledgeable about products, materials and styles. We used Shelley for our first kitchen renovation in 2007 she helped with the selection of finishes, tile, paint colours, etc. When we embarked on a project to have a custom home built on Vancouver Island in 2012 she was the natural choice. This time she played a much larger role in the project designing the cabinetry and custom millwork as well as helping with selection of the paint colours, tile and furniture. As we were living in Alberta during the 5 years it took for design and construction her input was invaluable. Her attention to detail and design flare resulted in a truly exceptional, comfortable family home which has also won awards and was featured in Spruce Magazine.

We hired Shelley to help us with a major living area and kitchen renovation and it was the single best decision we made on the project.Our home was built in 1987 and badly needed a renovation just to retain its functionality, let alone meet our changing needs. The scope included our living room, stairs, and opening up the dining area to the kitchen.I can’t imagine spending countless hours, over a year of planning, decision making and hard work, not to mention another mortgage worth of financial commitment, without having confidence in the finished product throughout the process. Shelley helped me to change up the feel of my living room, to make it less formal, to more relaxed and comfortable. She did an excellent job, listening to what I wanted, sourcing items and giving me choices. Then making all the arrangements for delivery, set up and disposal of items being replaced.
