Omar Khan of Hill and Knowlton was interviewed on CP24 today regarding the new labour laws and he clearly supports the Liberal Party of Ontario in expecting all businesses, including small mom & pop businesses, to absorb the entire increase in labour costs which we need to remember is not just the minimum wage. It includes statutory holiday pay, on-call pay, and increased vacation pay. This is very concerning since he and his company are strategists for businesses. One would have to assume the government contracts the services of Hill and Knowlton and perhaps Mr. Khan should have provided this disclaimer when he was interviewed so that we can clearly understand his position and that of his company.
