Planned an event for which we were told for the # of people the restaurant would be able to accommodate comfortably. Missing tables & chairs so some had to sit at the bar. Restaurant not set up staff was walking in at the same time as guests. The owner lost my seating arrangements not once but twice & forgot everything we had discussed despite having written it down. Also they didn’t servie the menu as discussed they basically did whatever they wanted. I am thoroughly disappointed & embarrassed & my daughter’s baptism was ruined & I can never redo it.

The food was simply scrumptious. The flavors of Southern Italy were in full effect. Simply thinking about my experience at the restaurant is enough to make my mouth salivate.Dominic is a genius in the kitchen and Donato gave us the best service.Go experience this yourselves, you'll thank me later.

I really don’t often write reviews, but I do feel that our experience bears sharing if only so that the management and staff of the restaurant are aware. The food is relatively good - certainly not the best we’ve had and some of the choices feel as though someone in the kitchen has a lot of talent and good ideas but is being overridden by another person who doesn’t know as much. For an example, the Polpo appetizer that was served had lovely octopus, but was served in a very small portion with croutons that were far too small and not crispy enough to avoid absorbing the sauce and getting soggy. Not a huge deal, but for $24 for a small portion, it’s something to note. The main problem with the experience was the service. Had we had a typical restaurant experience in Montreal, we would have sat down, looked at the menu for 10-15 minutes, ordered, and have been served appetizers and mains within 45 minutes. After being asked once about cocktails (which we declined), a server came back 10 minutes later to take our order. Given that the menu is in Italian and we hadn’t seen each other for a while, we hadn’t decided. The server explained each item to us, then did not return for 35 minutes. After flagging him down to order, our appetizers arrived relatively quickly, and then began the 45 minute wait for mains. Between the plates from appetizers being cleared to the mains being delivered, there were 45 minutes where not a single person spoke to us, asked about further drinks, offered an explanation or even refilled water. That’s not ideal. A dinner that should have taken 60-75 minutes ended up lasting almost 3 hours. No matter how good the food was, waiting almost an hour after ordering food, while watching staff drink cocktails with friends at the bar without masks, does tend to put a damper on the experience.Between the service and some of the choices made in the dishes we ate, we won’t be returning. Certainly a nice place, but in a city with so many choices for great service and food, it’s just not worth the high prices for a mediocre experience.
