The Lodge at Bow Lake
Great spot to take in the views. Amazing ice cream sandwich from the cafe. Fudgy brownie cookie and great tasting vanilla ice cream. Bought a second one immediately.

I don't know about the accommodation, but the coffee located next the gift shop is not worth the stop. The hot chocolate is pricey and way too sweet and they don't even have washrooms. It seems they get anyway a great number of tourists according to their popularity of the Icefields Parkway, so they don't have to improve.

The iconic landmark of the Icefield Parkway, the Lodge at Bow Lake, was originally built in 1922 by Jimmy Simpson, and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The name given to the lodge, the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, in Stony Indian language means Pine-Marten, the Canadian Sable.Currently, the lodge is closed for overnight stay due to renovations, and expected to be re-open in 2023. Located in the lodge the cafe and the gift shop are open most days from 10 AM to 4 PM.

This lodge is one of a kind. The experience is great - no cellphones, no TVs. Just spending time with the people you are with or strangers in the lounge area. The views are also breathtaking and you feel like you are in your own world staying there. No distractions just nature. Also a photographers dream! The staff were also great and was accommodating with our late check in time. It’s great to stay in a room without a tv for a change.

Very old, needs updating, rooms look like they have not changed for decades, bathroom very small and dated, check in desk area dirty, hotel run down. You feel like you walked in to an old museum. Sure, the place looks great from the outside and the view is incredible from ouside but the inside leaves a lot to be desired. For half the price I would say go for it, but for the price it is lacking. The people working there were great but the inside of the lodge is old and run down. I couldn’t wait to leave.

Happy to hear that this lodge is opening up this year. They are taking reservations now so will look forward to a visit to this new place this summer. Check out the website and make some plans. Beautiful area of the country - near Lake Louise but away from the crowds. Easy drive up and then walk around surrounded by the magnificent mountains. Restore your soul.

This was the best surprise. A beautifulgift shop and cafe. The cafe was amazing!! Everything is made daily. And everything had amazing presentation. Banana bread, delicious healthy sandwiches and…..Homemade ice cream sandwiches. I thought the prices were all very reasonable. Again, quality homemade delicious products. The art in the gallery gift shop was local. Many pieces were stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed this pitstop. We ate our lunch beside a gorgeous lake flanked by mountains. It exceeded our expectations. Sophia was so nice to talk to!!!Treat yourself!

Randomly stumbled across this lodge coming back from Peyto lake. And this was one of the best surprises I’ve experienced while in Alberta. We went in early fall of 2022, and the Hanging Glacier Cafe was open. I had a coffee, soup, sausage roll and ice cream sandwich. Everything was great, a bit pricey but worth it given the limited options around. They are pretty generous with the portions as well. All in all,if you want to enjoy a hot meal while enjoying the views of bow lake, or heading towards peyto and or mistaya canyon, definitely add this to one of your pit stops. There’s seating in front of the restaurant as well as by shoreline. They also accept credit and debit, unlike the Agnes Tea house. If we were to compare the charm factor and the overall dining experience, this place makes Agnes look like a food shelter.
