Sonder at The Liberty

Location is convenient in terms of accessibility to shops being on the same street if you are staying for longer terms and don't want to eat every meal out. The suit we stayed in has kitchen so we cooked most of the time. However the building itself is complicated to get in and out due to many elevators, doors and weird hallway. The building has amenities, but hotel guests do not have access. Service was the worst and rude on the phone.Our room had everything necessary you need for a trip including in suite laundry.

Room was decent enough - spacious, clean and amenities. Check in experience wasn’t great. 4pm check in is late and they charge extra for earlier check in. Location not the best for me, bit out of the central location.

**EDITED** We ended up staying at the Sonder and were completely satisfied with our stay. Someone mentioned that it's a long walk to get to your room and honestly, you get used to it. Everything you need is within walking distance. It's not downtown but not far either. Very centrally located and clean. Will definitely stay again.Well, this is unfortunate. Last night my husband and I booked two nights at the Sonder as we'll be in town for a work event. We went through the reservation process including ID verification and received an email confirmation (reservation was under my husband's name).It's important to note that the ID verification process is in two parts - take a photo of photo ID or upload a photo ID, and facial recognition.Today, I received an email that the ID verification process wasn't complete. When I called, apparently they don't accept uploaded photos - the photo of photo ID must be taken live. But I don't get it ... it's an option in your reservation process.My husband is not computer savvy and was already a little weary of the whole facial recognition thing. I don't know how he's going to react when I need to ask him to do it again and am not sure if we will move forward with the reservation.This is really too bad because we were looking forward to our stay and our work event is a five minute drive. If uploaded photos aren't allowed, it shouldn't be an option during the reservation process.It might not seem like a big deal to most of us but for those who aren't into technology, you feel the sense that you're being scammed if you're asked to provide information twice.If this is rectified somehow and we end up staying, I'm willing to change the review.

A great place to stay in Liberty Village surrounded by great restaurants and all the necessary services. The only downside is the long walk from the entry to Tower A

We stayed for 5 days at a 2BR 2 bath Sonder apartment in Liberty Village. Highly recommended. Everything is done through the Sonder app, the apartment itself was very well kept with a full kitchen allowing us to cook a T'giving dinner. The Sonder folks respond on the app with lightning speed. They read your mind and respond before you send the message which works out great for everyone. Watch out with Uber at the Sonder: Uber needs to be told to come to Trilogy apartments or be given a specific spot, otherwise they go elsewhere.

We have stayed at a few Sonder establishments across Canada in addition to various hotels and Airbnbs in Toronto. The experiences at Sonder is more consistent than Airbnbs.UPDATE 17 OCT 2022: However, after the fourth time at this Sonder location, you'll find that the room layout can differ. Be prepared for something odd in the room - like a door which doesn't close, too many closets, blinds which don't fully cover the windows, no bedside table, light switches which don't work. We've had various layouts and in both Towers A and B. None of the little quirks have been major deal breakers for not staying with Sonders.Location: This is not exactly downtown Toronto so if you need to get anywhere downtown, you'll need to take an Uber, drive or take other modes of public transportation. However, if being downtown is not necessary, this is a good location with access to some good food in the area, grocery (Longos is in the same building), Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy (just downstairs), Bulk Barn and other amenities within walking distance.Service: You do not really get service at Sonder establishments, but you can request for things on the Sonder App.Room: I like that there's a full kitchen and laundry (washer and dryer) in the room. The amount of laundry pods differ on each stay. Some stays, we had one pod in the container. And on some stays, we get four. Good amount of space for two people. There's a separate bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a work desk and a TV room. The layout of the first bedroom was a little odd as the bedroom door cannot be closed due to the bed. But not a big deal for a short stay.The beds at Sonder have always been Queen-sized and firm. A little small for us but okay given other positive points.Curtains/blinds: The lack of light cover in the bedrooms have been a pain point for us at many Sonder establishments. The blinds do not block the light and at this Sonder, the blinds don't cover all the windows.

I really enjoyed my stay! My 1 bedroom suite was cozy and clean. I had a great view of the city and the bed was super comfy! I loved having a laundry system and dishwasher in my suite which they provided soap for both! It’s located beside a grocery store and a starbucks which was so convenient. The only con was the super long walk from the front entrance to my actual floor, which also required two separate elevators to get to the Sonder suites. I would definitely stay at Sonder again granted the prices stay reasonable!

My group stayed here across two different rooms for 8 days and were thoroughly happy with the rooms and the experience in general. We were in Towers B & C, there was a minor issue with a door going to Tower C and it was fixed within a couple of hours of bringing it to Sonder's attention, despite this being a door that the residents also used so I would assume wouldn't be completely Sonders responsibility.In general the Sonder team were always very polite and professional in our interactions and I'd be delighted to stay with them again.Only thing I felt was worth mentioning was the lack of hangers in the wardrobe, I was in a room meant for 2 people and staying for 8 days and there was only about 5 hangers. I did purchase my own from a nearby store and left them all in the room so hopefully they left a few of them for other guests. It should be noted that I didn't attempt to take it up with Sonder so this will be the first they heard of it, it was cheap enough to rectify myself so I just did.The location is great, there is a streetcar stop right outside the building which will take you downtown for CA$3.35 with a presto card that you can get from the Shoppers store next door. There are loads of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance as well as several shops to pick up whatever you might need during your stay.

I stayed for 9 days and Sonder is really comfortable, cozy and calm neighborhood. And I agree the bed was super comfy!! The residents are nice and polite. Location very convenient. There have lot of bus stops near by. If you want go to downtown travel, is convenience!

Great size apartment for a one week business stay. Close enough to Liberty Village for restaurants or very close to convenience store (a large one) if you want to self cater.
