I was having a serious intermittent problem with my vehicle. I live in an isolated community so, if the vehicle failed to start, I had no viable way of getting service. I would have had to import a car carrier by ferry to take the vehicle to Vancouver Island.I tried contacting the service department where I bought the vehicle and nobody seemed interested in helping me. They did not even return calls after promising to do so.I talked by phone to Doug at Laird Wheaton and he took the time to listen and suggest the best solution. I had to work done the next time that I was in Nanaimo and the problem appears to be gone. The service at the shop was prompt, courteous and a reasonable price.

I would go down to 0 stars if it would let me. I dropped my camaro off for an oil change and they gave it a complementary wash (which was nice of them) but unfortunately the car is vinyl wrapped with a colour shifting wrap and it was washed with a rough brush which resulted in major damage. They have claimed it wasn't them, tried to fix it by polishing the scratches out but offered no solution for the scratched spoiler. They also stated it was my fault for not informing them my colourshifting car was wrapped when i had simply dropped it off for an oil change. They are now stating they will not be replacing or fixing anything moving forward andI'll be forced into legal action if it does not get resolved.Please save your time and effort and simply buy/service your vehicle elsewhere.Edit- May 2023 still no response from the company or managers.

I recently purchased a 2023 Bolt EUV and have to say that it was the best car dealer experience I have ever had. My new vehicle purchase was a very positive experience. My sales rep Steve Skuce provided excellent service and sales manager Ross Barnard provided great follow up as well. Codie and Kristine in the finance department were also extremely easy to work with. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this dealer if shopping for a new or used car

Great dealership. Marshall & Mark were especially helpful. Sadly the model of vehicle we were looking for was extremely specific but the team at Laird Wheaton were so amazing and helped answer all our questions and provided excellent service along with allowing us to test drive multiple vehicles. 10/10 would recommend if you are ever on the Island and looking for a great new vehicle / great customer experience.

Bought a new vehicle for my wife through them and was quite satisfied. I called and negotiated price over phone as I was coming from the mainland. They got everything ready for me including picking me up from terminal. I was in and out 45min as they said I would be so I could catch ferry home. No hidden fees or BS and a full tank of fuel. I will contact them first when looking for a new truck. Thanks Darren
