Community Healthcare Consulting - professional development

With consultation from Sue, my team and I participated in the Equine Assisted Professional Development, Growth, and Learning opportunity and gained a lot from this experience both in terms of team building and leadership development. A really good way to enhance self-reflective practice at work. Highly recommend CHC's experiential learning modality for frontline and leadership teams that wish to enhance their trauma-informed practice and build an authentic workplace culture.

The experiential professional development sessions with CHC Consulting increased our team's resilience in addressing challenges as a whole team. Our communication and cohesiveness was increased. As a result we became more effective as a team in reducing misunderstandings and being more clear and open in our conversations, especially when seeking feedback. It was surprising how working with the horses provided insights into how our team works and how this translates so clearly to our work setting.Our team was able to both learn about each other but equally important, to learn about ourselves. Self-awareness is essential in working in mental health. The experience challenged us to work as a team in a new experience of working with horses. Our boundaries and protective layering was dismantled in favour of building a strong alliance and reliance with each other. I would highly recommend this experience for any team but look forward to doing it again soon. Sue Carr and her team were exceptional in their handling of my staff, the horses, and the training session.

We hired Sue and Danielle to guide and support us through a strategic planning day. We are 3 managing partners of a growing firm and we were seeking clarity on our next steps. I have attended several Meditations with the Herd sessions this year and each time they bring me back to calm. I leave each session feeling grounded and clear headed. I feel more confidant and I know that helps me focus on what is most important. A while ago I attended another session on professional skills building and benefited from that session as well. I am also falling in love with horses. They are incredible, gentle animals that relate to us on an emotional level. I took my mother for her birthday to Sue and Danielle's Meditation With The Herd event up near Barrie and we absolutely loved it! They guided us through an interactive meditation with the horses followed up by a lovely sunset discussion. It was such a beautiful property and well done event, and the horses were so gentle and calm. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone- horse lover or not!
