I had lost my wallet a week before Christmas this year and they refused to help me unless I had ID. I was obviously VERY distraught because they told me they wouldn’t serve me until I had ID, which would’ve taken well over a month to get replaced in this pandemic. Thankfully, the 1-800 number was able to resolve my issue in less than 10 minutes. What I don’t understand was why none of the various women standing around in this branch were unwilling to help me and why they would tell me there was nothing they could do for me when there clearly was. I wish Scotiabank was more consistent with their services. I plan on closing my account and moving to TD.

I thought there should be a way to speak to a live person. There is over 7 billion of us on this planet. Try to call the bank you must secure 30 min just to get to someone. Working hours short, phone system not existing. Are we all turning to robots now? Not great at all.

Staff are pleasant enough, but the wait time here is usually well in excess of 15 minutes and the hours are a joke. I have to genuinely wonder if they're trolling their customers by opening half an hour after the work day begins, closing half an hour before it ends, and then remaining closed on weekends. It is quite literally impossible to visit the branch without missing work (assuming you work a M-F). When other banks are routinely open on Saturdays and well into the evening, I find it remarkable that Scotiabank maintains such unfriendly hours.

Been working close to 37 years in customer service/sales and one thing for sure, I would never treat a customer like how me and my wife have been treated by this branch. If you can avoid this particular branch do it. Banks are all the same, it’s about the people who work there so if you can avoid that place, do it. Good luck talking to anyone, good luck getting an answer to your emails unless you think waiting 3 business days to a simple question is acceptable. 2 months we are in contact with them over a new mortgage/renewal. You will be lied to, ignored, made feel like you’re worthless. One good person works there. Bending over backwards for us. Everyone else lets you down.

I have had lots of problems when it comes to dealing with mortgage with this bank and couldn't be anymore disappointed with how this bank handles your mortgage. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Stephanie. R. At this branch as she is incompetent and very rude with how my first mortgage started and could not work any further with this employee. Communication was great until we found she had been lying to us, not working on my mortgage and just before buying the house, I received an email from her saying the mortgage negotiation have been cancelled. I found this very unprofessional, Stephanie would no longer return our emails, phone calls and repeatedly bailed on appointments made after this mistake was made. Even though the e manager and Stephanie herself had accepted and told us to purchase, they later did not want to have anymore communication with us.

Drive thru ATM has NEVER worked for me. Can’t deposit money through it, can’t withdraw money half the time. The “covid” hours have not been adjusted like every other business has. How can you expect working citizens to bank from 9:30-5pm when those are typical working hours? At least stay open until 6pm. Can’t believe they’re still not open on weekends either.

They say bank closes at 5 but even if you go at 4:45 you will find doors locked. Learn to respects others time as well.

Honestly awful. I recently went on vacation to the UK and took out money. No more than 3 weeks later I bring back the remaining and they will not take it back because they are “old bills”. Those bills are legal tender, this branch gave them to me less than 3 weeks ago and had no problem spending while I was away. All they did was blame me for not spending all of it. Rude employees that do not care about their customers. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

I can't get money from my account at any of these local branches. Went to minets point and the machine is empty, go to mapleview doors are locked and we can't access the bank machines and the drive through is our of money, go to alcona no cash available there either..... We are closing accounts on Monday! I've had it with this.

Terrible service as usual Scotiabank. Completely useless staff. They told me to go to my home branch in Toronto. Utterly useless. Exactly why you no longer have my mortgage or investments.
