Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Oyster Bay

If you’re someone who feels the energy in a room and feeds off the positive vibes of others, this is your destination. The staff was excellent and super friendly! Dani made us breakfast every day and even made sure we didn’t have to fight the hockey teams for bacon! The way to my heart is through my stomach and breakfast was always delicious! Dani also made sure we knew the area, gave us directions and recommendations, and was always asking how our day was! She let us know about the best photo taking spots and local thrifting hacks. Be sure to show her some love when you stay here. Anna was awesome at check in, easy to joke around with, and had a great sense of humour. Anna made sure we felt at home immediately upon check in. She also has great hair! The staff made sure our stay was warm, fuzzy, and filled with laughs and lots of love. Despite being very short staffed they all did what they could to fill in the gaps and made sure everyone got what they needed. The pool was awesome and the water slide is where it’s at! You definitely get some speed going down. Be sure to see who can make the biggest wave at the bottom and remember the cannonball always wins! 10/10 team! Thanks for a great experience and making us feel like family. <3

This was a Hockey tournament the hotel was very busy , the pool area was fantastic, even has a good waterslide for the kids. Breakfast was more then adequate for everyone in our party and the food was great.

We truly enjoyed our weekend at this hotel and will be a repeat customer. Rooms were clean, beds cozy, breakfast was great, and convenient! Hot tub and pool area was clean.

average rooms, service was excellent, location is away from main cities but there is a store, restaurant and liquor store within walking distance. The outdoor area is perfect for groups.

It's a great little hotel just off Highway 1 near Ladysmith. Pool, waterside, new and most important Clean!!. The night host was very helpful and made me feel right at home. It's definitely a place I will return whenever I'm out on the island. I very much recommend and will be back !!

I have been staying at this hotel for the past six years, and have been thoroughly satisfied with every stay. The hotel maintains a high degree of cleanliness, efficiency, and client service. All the employees are very courteous and make every effort to ensure that the guests experience a comfortable period at the hotel.I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone passing through this town whether for business or pleasure.

Hotel was very clean. Morning staff lovely. Afternoon staff seemed as though they did not enjoy their job or children. Worlds smallest towels!. Pool towels are napkin sized. Pool was very clean and in great condition.

A more moderna brand of Wyndham, reception was super friendly. The breakfast was great and amazing how the staff kept refilling food for breakfast since a lot of people came and ate. Parking is free and actually enjoyed the designating parking spots for Diamond and platinum members.This hotel also had screens that monitored arriving and departing flights from Nanaimo airport (5-10 minute drive away) and definitely a convenient feature for guests flying around.

I loved this hotel until this morning and always praised it to so many.. this place is a great location and has good amenities around it.. the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is nice enough as well, but seems there’s always a wait for more food to come out, there is never enough and people are all standing around waiting.. maybe more staff would be helpful? This morning we got up and the pool was closed for hours, now of course I understand maintenance occurring but why not do that during the pools closure hours? Why do it in the morning when people want to use the facilities.. anyway I can take that with a pinch of salt too.. but when I looked for a maid who was in a room cleaning to ask for some towels, I’m advised by a receptionist, who yelled down the hall at me, that no I can’t have them, cause they don’t have enough cleaned yet, but there was a cart there with towels on it for cleaning rooms which could’ve easily been replaced once laundry was done in more then enough time for new patrons to check in.. I was disappointed to say the least.. can’t say I’ve ever had a hotel tell me I can’t have towels cause they’re needed for people checking in 4 hours later.. I expressed my surprise/disappointment and Teri, same woman at the reception counter states “must be nice when the whole world revolves around us” to another guest as I walk away. I’m gobsmacked really.. I told her I found her comment rude and took her name.. I pay over $400 for only two nights and can’t have a few clean towels? And then I’m insulted in front of my kids as being entitled.. umm nope.. not impressed.. customer service this weekend has been a big no for me, it’s like we we’re frowned upon for being a nuisance and for having kids that are just having fun.. super disappointed today..

Fantastic service from Leo. The microtel inn is clean and comfortable. Leo helped us out with leaving our car in the parking lot for friends to pick up which was incredibly convenient so we could just take a quick taxi to the Nanaimo airport. Will definitely be back again and look forward to trying out the free breakfast.
