East City Chinese Food Take Out
My husband and I are new to the Hamilton area and we decided to get Chinese, but after tonight we will not be ordering from here again, sorry. We asked for honey garlic spare ribs and chicken wings which was alright and the sauce came on the side…the sauce turned out to be just honey and horrible. We also got the lo mein egg noddle and it looked and tasted like spaghetti in butter. My husband and I love authentic chinese and would eat it often from other places and this wasn’t it for sure. I get it you need to cater to certain people and their taste, but the way I see it is if someone is wanting Chinese then they should be getting authentic food the way it’s supposed to be with all the flavour and sauces.

Really tasty chicken fried rice and good value on the combination meals. Combo #1 is my favourite because the sweet and sour ribs are boneless and delicious. Very friendly staff.

Worst customer service on Christmas eve . The gentleman on the phone needs to learn some phone skills. Tried to order a couple combo plates for my wife and I .man said not serving combos . Would not let me decide if I wanted something else . Said not serving Combos today 3 times rudely and hung up. I have no problem taking weekly business elsewhere. UPDATEsomeone called back and apologized appreciated thank you

Gone down hill since new owners or family members took over. Everything just tastes a bit different now than it did say 5 years ago. It used to be my family go to place for years but now I rather go elsewhere despite it being the closest place around.

We felt the urge for some Chinese takeout and Must say that we were pleasantly surprised at how consistently excellent everything was. From the ease of ordering to the sincere greeting by the manager at pickup to how incredibly delicious the food was...and all at still very fair prices. I know people from the West mountain that make the drive to U. Ottawa to get their food from here, too. Hard to find a higher compliment than that!
