Working with Ryan has been such a joy. My dogs absolutely love him. I brought my chi hua hua/ terrier mixed rescue (Cooper) and siberian husky (Kai) for a board and train program to address their lack of basic obedience, loose leash walking and resource guarding issues. After completing the program, we are continuing our journey with private lessons and boarding with Ryan when I go away for work and vacation. Although the resource guarding is still there, they both are so much more manageable and responsive to the foundation that Ryan laid out for them. I went from being an anxious dog handler, to one that actually looks forward to training sessions not only with Ryan and the dogs but one on one, with the dogs and myself. I incorporate training into everything we do now, and my bond and relationship with my dogs have only grown stronger. I am grateful to have come across Release the Leash Dog Training and love the new found relationship I and my dogs have with Ryan. Ryan was great with our 6 month corgi puppy! He provided a great puppy training plan and was able to tailor it throughout the 8 sessions to our puppy’s unique needs/ pain points. He was also very flexible and was able to come to our house for training, which was great. We saw so much improvement in our puppy’s behaviour through working with Ryan, and he made sure we understood how to continue to implement the training ourselves outside of the sessions. Ryan was very knowledgeable and great with our puppy. Overall really recommend working with Ryan for training!

Ryan was a fantastic trainer to our dog Toby! We enrolled our 1.5 year old morkie in the 3-week Board and Train program and it was without a doubt, the best investment we’ve made for our furry friend.Ryan was very communicative and sent us updates as much as he could. He would answer questions in a timely manner and would send us tips on how to manage Toby’s stubbornness.Toby used to bark and lunge at every dog that would pass by in addition to dragging us along during our walks. Now, after only three weeks, he walks in an automatic heel and knows to follow our lead when we’re out without barking at other dogs. We are absolutely amazed at how much he’s improved.Not only has Ryan taught Toby proper obedience, but also how we as his owners can reinforce and strengthen his training. Ryan was very informative and thoroughly showed us how to effectively correct unwanted behaviours while reinforcing good behaviours. After learning how to use so many new tools, we are confident that we’ll be able to maintain Toby’s new learned manners.We are extremely pleased with Toby’s results and will definitely work towards off leash training with Ryan in the future.

We did 4 sessions with Ryan and I am pleased to say that it was the best decision I ever made for both me and my pup. Before the sessions we struggle with every walk that we just tend to go out very early in the morning or very late at night. My pup would lunge and bark at other dogs to the point that I injured my wrist. We saw results right after the first session, and I was able to walk him with a lot less reactivity just by engaging more with my dog. Ryan taught me things I thought I knew. He was very straightforward and doesn’t sugarcoat, which I liked. Looking forward to the refresher course after my pup gets neutered. Happy thanksgiving!

After doing puppy training classes for our labradoodle at PetSmart from 4 months to 8 months old. We were not seeing the results we wanted and decided to call Release the Leash.I was feeling overwhelmed and helpless because Henry was already 8 months old and we still had so many areas he needed to work on. Ryan was very professional and caring on the phone. He assured me it wasn’t too late for training. We immediately started to notice a difference in Henry’s ability to walk on a leash without pulling, biting and jumping.Ryan’s approach to training is calm and effective. He truly loves what he does and is amazing at it. Henry adores Ryan and has learn a lot. We were struggling to train our dog Coal consistently. He always jumped on people and barked at anything that moved. He also lunged at people on our walks. My boyfriend reached out to Ryan and we enrolled him in the 3 week boarding program and that was the best investment we’ve made so far. Bryan is an expert when it comes to dog training he was able to walk us through all the steps we needed to help with our Beagle's reactivity, he improved from day one and now he's a completely different dog on our walks!

We first met Ryan in the summer when we got our 12 week old golden doodle, Max and completed the 6 week puppy training program. As first time dog owners, our family greatly benefitted from Ryan’s training as it helped set a foundation. We are very pleased with how quickly Max progressed through the training. Ryan is very knowledgeable in what he does and was extremely helpful. Max recently stayed with Ryan in his boarding program while we were away for a week. Ryan updated us, sent us pictures and videos daily. You can tell the love Ryan has for what he does as he treated Max as family. I highly recommend Ryan for dog training and boarding!
