If I could give Herzig Eye Institue six stars, I would! I suffered from high myopia at -10 for many years, and if you were walking towards me, I would not be able to see you unless you were close enough for me to reach out and tap you. Needless to say, it was very unpleasant. When I heard about Herzig Eye Institute, I contacted them on their website. I was quickly responded to and a consultation was scheduled within two weeks. At my consultation, I was recommended SMILE, and I had it done on my eyes in July 2022. It is very hard to find words to describe the perfect job that was carried out not just by Dr. Baig but also by the entire team at Herzig Eye Institute. This was not just on the SMILE day itself, but during the entire process, ranging all the way from the consultation to the last follow up appointment. The amount of professional care and friendliness present in all the staff at Herzig Eye Institute is hard to find anywhere else. One example is how clearly the process of SMILE was explained to me at my consultation and once again when the day came, which made me calm and comfortable. In addition, the entire place is modern and clean. Meanwhile, I now have 20/20 vision and there were no side effects whatsoever. It is the best feeling ever to no longer need glasses when I used to have high myopia of -10! I am still very happy about it to this day. I strongly recommend that anybody in need of refractive eye surgery or cataracts give Herzig Eye Institute a try because there is no doubt that they deserve your trust. I wanted to share how wonderful my experience has been withHerzig. The staff and my surgeon are so professional and very compassionate people in every way possible. I was walked through every aspect of the process by Leanne and it was made so easy for me. Thank you for everything.

I had my surgery done yesterday and the staff were so nice, calm, and amazing. They went through everything very thoroughly to ensure all aspects of the procedure were clear (pre and post op) and ensured my prescription was accurate and dry eye was sorted before proceeding with anything. I really felt they wanted to check all of the boxes and not just rush me into anything. During my surgery they kept reassuring me with how well everything was going and were very professional. Although it was a bit uncomfortable, they made everything go so smoothly. I went in for my followup the next day (today) and was able to test 20/20 already! Still some blur as expected but Herzig had exceeded all my expectations and was well worth the investment!

I had cataract surgery on both my eyes. The process was amazing. There was no pain whatsoever. The doctor, medical personnel, and administration staff were superb. Best of all was the result. Not only are the cataracts gone but I know have 20-20 vision. I just need reading glasses. I highly recommend this clinic.

First of all, the options were not properly explained at the beginning; after waiting a year forOHIP covered hospital surgery with Dr. Baig, I only then found out that I could not choose my preferred lens, so had to pay out of pocket for my surgery at Herzig.So, a year later, post surgery and I now have chronic dry eye problems which I didn’t ever have before the surgery. And Herzig takes no aftercare responsibility; they’ve dumped the problem entirely on to my Optometrist who admittedly doesn’t know what to do. My optometrist after ceasing to prescribe a certain medication because of the long term risks referred me to Precision Cornea an associated/partnered with Herzig (same staff); The doctor there prescribed the very same medication that I had just been advised to stop taking. I have been on various prescription eye drops for over a year now, but nothing has helped and they have just recently advised me to stop with the eye drops all together, obviously this dry eye syndrome result is what I have to live with forever.Would highly recommend consulting with other ophthalmologists/surgeons before signing on the dotted line. I wondered at the time why my optometrist sent me to Herzig at the opposite end of the city from me; it was revealed later that he was also on staff at Herzig!

I had the SMILE procedure done in the spring of 2020. And now year and a half after the procedure, I need glasses again. I would strongly encourage anyone seeking vision correction to consult other companies. More importantly, I want to caution future clients with my experience because 6 thousand dollars is a lot to spend on something that won’t work and have you buying glasses again.I selected Herzig from the online reviews and the service I received leading up to my surgery was great. I was near-sighted and the monovision (one eye corrected for distance and the other for reading) was recommended. The actual procedure was fine and the after effects (ie pain, blurred vision) were not a surprise and were as described to me. However, my vision for distance never got to the level it was when I was wearing glasses. When I consulted Herzig about this, I was told that my eyes just needed more time to adjust. So I patiently waited. It has been 18 months since my surgery and my vision is still blurry. I went to my optometrist recently to confirm and much to my disappointment, I now need glasses again. With this, I went back to Herzig to see what they could do and I was told that my blurry vision is due to a dry eye problem and not the surgery. I don’t disagree that my eyes are dry, my eyes have always been dry even before the procedure. The blurry vision I have now is due to the fact that the surgery did not work for me. I wasted all this money only to have to wear glasses again. I wish I had read a review like mine before to save me from making a decision I now fully regret.

We went to the Ottawa Herzig Eye Institute on Friday of one week and were booked to come back the following week for the actual cataract surgery. From the consultation to the preop to the laser surgery to the post op the next day we were treated quickly and professionally. Wait times were non existent and from the staff to the Doctor everyone was welcoming and friendly.

Had cataracts removed in both eyes within 1 week I would like to thank Dr. Baig and Dr. Nour and all the staff, everyone was so professional and caring, thank you again,,,I would certainly recommend Herzig Institute.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr Sabeti and the staff were so kind and friendly. I have had no pain or discomfort. I would recommend Dr Sabeti. and the staff at Herzig.
