SaskExpress Musical Theatre Studio - Saskatoon

I would give zero stars if I could. I attended with my 1 year old to watch my 6 year olds year end musical theatre performance, however when ever the lights went out in between performances my baby got scared and would cry but would be fine and happy once the performers came back onto stage. Because of this the workers at the venue kicked myself and my baby out of the theatre and wouldn’t refund my ticket or give me other options to watch my child perform. All she told me was “come back tomorrow without your baby”.They said they wouldn’t refund my ticket and to talk to Sask Express regarding it.There was another baby in the theatre that would continuously cry but they were not told to leave. From my understanding this was to be a family friendly event, but it was not handled in that way by the Persephone workers or SaskExpress. My daughter was visibly upset after the show as I was not able to watch her perform!I’m very disappointed in the last minute planning of putting together a second show on the Saturday in which the 5-6 year olds would have to have an almost 12 hour day with what was supposed to be just a recreational activity of the once a week mickeys class. We had already purchased our tickets for Saturday night in which we couldn’t be refunded to switch to the earlier time therefore had no other option but to attend the 7-10pm show. This is absolutely unacceptable to not be able to watch my child perform, along with not being able to be present as she is only 6 years old!I tried contacting the ceo regarding this without any response, and only received a response from the manager saying to come back to the Sunday show (without my one year old) with a “who cares” kind of attitude and wouldn’t refund my ticket for the Saturday night showing.I would not recommend this place very unprofessional in their business practices and not family friendly.

My 8 year old has been attending Sask Express since he was 3 years old. He has taken hip hop, tap, musical theatre and ballet and has enjoyed the fun, creative atmosphere. The teachers are excellent and have shown so much patience and care with him. He has always needed just a little bit extra help in managing emotions and responds so well to their encouragement and kindness. I love that the little ones are introduced to dance through games and flexible expectations for dress code and as they get older they are ready to adopt the requirements of what to wear. The atmosphere is very accepting, all of the students have been friendly and welcoming. This has been a wonderful dance school for us and will continue to be for many years to come!
