Lilac Grove Boarding Kennel

Just left my dog Nova there for 10 days and they were great! She came home with a little diary of her stay and the cutest little paw print penguin craft! Sounds like her Aunties took very very good care of her :) would definitely bring her back! Thanks Lilac Grove!

Our dog stayed with them over the holidays and we are more than confident that he was well cared for. He came home with arts and crafts, new toys and treats, and smelling like he’d been bathed. He had such a good time we struggled to get him into the car to go home!

Boarded my dog for just over a week at Lilac Grove and was so impressed. You can tell that they really care for the dogs. They were so reassuring when I dropped him off, answered all my questions, and told me to call anytime. When I did call halfway through his stay, they gave me lots of information about how he was doing and really put my mind at ease. When I picked him up, they sent us home with an activity log that had notes about what he did each day and a craft with his paw print on it! It seems like they did a lot of activities in both big and small groups, which I thought was great.The only thing I found to be less than ideal was that they only take cash. Apparently they have been burned in the past by customers who have said they sent etransfers but didn't. While it's understandable that they would want to avoid that, I think there are other very reasonable and workable solutions. With that being said, they did work with me to find a solution when my bank card wasn't working on pick up day, which I really appreciated.I have only ever heard positive things about Lilac Grove and now wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family myself! Thanks to the entire team.

This is the best kennel in Thunder Bay! The staff are friendly and accommodating. My cat was there for 2 weeks and she came back very happy and I knew she was in good hands. I will certainly be using this kennel in the future and I am beyond happy with the service.

I recommend Lilac Groves Kennel. I’ve never left a pet at a kennel before .. so they were our first experience . Dougie stayed there for a week. We can say enough, they were helpful and professional when I phoned and asked all the questions I had . When we picked him up , they sent us home with a diary of what he did everyday and a craft he participated in while we were away. So awesome .. I loved it!! They also made us aware one morning he was found choking , due to a small piece of toy he must have ingested at home before his stay at lilac . He was trying throw it up since it was sitting in his stomach, one of the aunties perform first aid in a fast manner and saved his life. Very trust worthy!!!! They also accommodated us with feeding him his raw diet .

My Sammy was there for 18 days and he was very well taken care of. It is so nice to be on holidays and know your dog is also being loved and pampered. They even had stockings for Christmas. Thank you Wendy and wonderful,caring staff.

Absolutely the best kennel. We have been using Lilac Grove for over 25 years. Our dogs absolutely love going and are treated well. All of the staff are amazing and Wendy will bend over backwards to help her clients out in cases of stays due to emergencies. We will continue to use the kennel until the day it closes (but hopefully it never does!)

The owner was agitated and yelling at me in front of the kennel doors, while YOUR animals listened and then her husband can over and joined in. My crime? Taking a Great Dane, that I walk and dog sit, out of the kennels for a night with the owners permission. I could not babysit that week, so the owner brought him to this place, which as a K9 lover and former employee of TBDHS and The Pet Inn I cannot recommend you do the same...find another option.This kennel also sold the owner on her K9 having an Arts & Crafts day...as a dog guy, what the heck is that? This Great Dane is 170lbs, a prime specimen and needs walks and exercise, arts and crafts are for kids!To the Owner: You are volatile, rude and condescending. I would NEVER leave a sentient being in your custody.

My schnoodle stayed here prior to Christmas and it was a great experience. The kennels were clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and encouraged me to call if I wanted to check in on how she was doing. They made quick notes on her when we arrived, as it was her first time staying there. I felt that they were genuinely interested in making the animals as comfortable as possible while away from their families. My dog even came home with a paw paint craft.

Highly recommend!I was so excited to send my (highly energetic) Australian cattle dog to Lilac Grove, unfortunately our plans changed and we no longer needed their services.Our experience with Wendy has been amazing since booking our appointment. She was extremely professional and clearly loves animals. I felt terrible for canceling but Nicole was great. She understood and said “we’ll see you next time”.When we go away next time Lilac Grove will be the FIRST (and only) place we’ll be sending our 4legged friend.
