Travelodge by Wyndham Cranbrook

This place is run down and not kept up.....chose somewhere else and don't be disappointed. We arrived to unfriendly staff, not even a greeting from one of the employees. They gave us a room right on the main highway through Cranbrook...we walked into the room and walked right out. The room was horrible, made us feel like we were itchy. Didn't even go back to the office to ask for a refund. We left and went down the street to the Best Western for night. Spend the extra money on a different hotel and DON'T STAY HERE! Wish I could give a minus Star rating!

Although we managed to stay safe during out visit, and the room was decently clean, the low income/homeless program they are supporting makes it feel unsafe to stay there. We were told about the program, but I really did not expect to feel so uneasy. Our room was directly above security and the support office. The residents come over to sit and smoke at the outside of the office. Coming down the stairs was scary. Now that may be due to my bias, but definitely would not recommend a family staying there. The motel was upfront about this program when I reserved and on check in. I expressed my concerns based on other reviews and they stated they had not had any problems that required police intervention.

This place is atrocious! The government has turned it into a shelter for substance dependent individuals with no additional resources for rehab, treatment or security. I have witnessed people being assaulted and bear sprayed. If you have a bike or personal item stolen it can likely be found down at the Travelodge. The amount of crime and blatant disregard for public safety is shameful. I will never support any Wyndham group hotel ever again!!!!!

Our car broke down and we were happy to find a place that took pets. We had a separate suite inside our room which was helpful since we had another adult with us. There were homeless people using some of the empty rooms, which we fully support! Months later I called back to get another copy of our receipt, and they emailed it to me immediately. The price was reasonable too.

Shady motel. Booked a room that had a no cancellation policy. Received a call several weeks after booking letting me know they are running a government subsidize program for low income housing. It's basically a half way house and would not offer a refund when I chose not to stay there.

Parking lot a little shady as told us to park by office so they could monitor it! Hand rail up to room filthy! Air conditioner didn't work well so room was very hot! Poor lighting! Great water pressure and shower head height! Smittys next door clean and had a great breakfast!

This is a Travelodge. If you're expecting fancy & swanky rooms, go elsewhere. If you're a smoker and need an affordable room for the night, then you cannot go wrong. Cable included in the room. Bed was to be expected, as was carpeting and room decor. Room came with a mini-fridge, two chairs, a closet, and a shower/bathtub. I would recommend an upgrade in towels to the management - they were kind of small, thin and discoloured. Overall I have no complaints regarding my stay. Was super happy to find a smoking room!

Beware!!! Stay away!After spending the day in the emergency room at Cranbrook hospital while my husband underwent surgery for a fractured hip, I was exhausted by midnight and wanted a good night sleep. I was directed to the Travelodge.The room I got had a single bed and cost me, one person, $197.20 for that single night! Absolutely taking advantage of unsuspecting people during an emotional crisis.This should no longer be classified or advertised as a motel for the public. It now has become an old motel rented to the City and used to house the homeless on an individual night basis.I was very uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to get away from there.

We booked online, when i got there they told me oh im sorry we have no rooms left. I showed them my booking and they said a booking was issued in error. It was actually a good thing in the end as we found out it was not a half way house and the scene outside was not something we were comfortable with staying with. I am actually more frustrated as they told me Whyndam would call us direct to compensate for booking us in error, but Whyndam never contacted us.
