Like all government services, 50% is good and 50% is bad. Our first coordinator was so bad we complained and got a second one who was excellent. She manages complex" home care cases while the other one manages regular cases."

Just awful. They do nothing to help your loved one who is suffering.

Community Care Access Centre is not accessible at all. My doctor referred me to this service because I need nursing care post-operation. I was told that a nurse will come to my home everyday. I went home and hours after CCAC called to tell me to go to their clinic everyday by appointment because that is what's in my assessment in their file. I have to travel from Danforth Rd to McNicoll, everyday by bus because I can not drive right now and no one to drive me there. That is after 4 days of open surgery. Basically, the service is there, get it if you can, who cares we get funded anyway, we are doing a great job helping the community. I was quite relieved actually when I left the hospital and the doctor was quite insistent that I will avail of this service. I thought to myself, there goes my tax dollars working for me now. But only to be dismayed when I got the call. The home nursing services is only for patients age 65 and above.Could have saved your time had I been informed of that in the hospital and my doctor would have not recommended your services.

My doctor referred my husband to this service because he needs nursing care for diabetic feet and toe infection treatment. I received all the required medical supplies beforehand and was assigned a nurse depending on the availability. The Nurse came on Friday, but the second day on Saturday the Nurse came and took back most of the medical supplies for dressing wounds from my home. I don’t have any idea that medical supplies belong to nurses or patients. Doctor told me I need to get treatment for a minimum of two months to heal. why she took the medical supplies back. Now I don’t have any dressing supplies. How can I get these supplies back?

My uncle had a bad experience as the neglected care for him. I don’t understand why the hospital would recommend this place!

They tell you someone is coming out to help your loved and no one shows up. Terrible terrible service so disappointed .

Good coordinator’s level but absolutely disgusting management. I would not trust this “company” at all for your health decisions with the current management and CEO level. Plus I just heard they laid off a lot of good professionals; including the one attending my mom recently. Disgusting management.

My wife was released from Sunny brook Hospital, thyroidectomy subtotal right., Community care from Sunny brook called her at 10:00pm when she was discharged that day at 9 am. She was asked to contact the Scarborough East LHIN to request for Community care assistance? She badly needed one to help her personal needs. The coordinator at the East Scarborough told her that she will be assessed on the scheduled date 28 days after her released???She haven't taken a bath for 5 days and wanted to go to her family doctor for leaking of her neck drain. We sent email to the Office of Scarborough LHIN came immediately and investigated my wife at our apartment. Long discussion, almost denying my wife the need for intervention of homeware services!!! Very disgusting!!! I could not give her that care because I work as security guard in the night shift, daytime I need to sleep!!! I could not take good care of anyone, that's why we requests for assistance from CCAC! Finally, after our pleading the coordinator granted my wife an hour of personal care-- bathing only! 3 x a week. Why does coordinators acting as if they are LORDS???? If this is the kind of service they will accord, I will vote for the defunding of this agency! Infuriating! There were few bad eggs in this agency, and the others were smeared by these bad eggs.

I shouldn’t miss submitting review for CCAC Scarborough area.I was scared to see all the negative reviews the day after my discharge from the hospital. My doctor referred me to opt for CCAC service, I live in Scarborough and the agency operating in this area is very good.I received all the required medical supplies beforehand and was assigned a different nurse depending on the availability. There has never been a delay or no show up any day.My treatment continued for almost 2 months and extremely satisfied with the service. I am really thankful to the government for funding such organizations which work for the welfare of the society.

Awful workers and awful service. They flat out lie. Do not trust them. Record everything. They do NOT have your loved ones best interests in mind. Look at the ratings. The people working there should be ashamed of themselves. Incompetence is rampant.
