Linhaven Long-term Care
My mother was at this home for a few months and had ongoing problems until I pulled her February 26th 2021.Many families are very blind to the truth but I will expose it. Here's some of the issues.Everything from but limited to:Not getting regular showers sometimes 1 time a week or if your in quarantine non at all.. some residents like my mom cant do there sponge bath because of her medical condition..She doesn't always receive her meals. She's had missed pills or had them taken away. She's had laundry left for weeks on end while other residents gets there's.Bed isn't made or changed while other residents have and do get there's done.Pee dumped in sinks that people get there drinking water from...Floors not swept or cleaned.Abused by staff that left bruises. And so much more...Because of covid and the government these homes have become untouchable and think they can get away with this...When covid is over they will have to face the families.. I have called the Obudsman, LTCH inspectors. I am getting a news paper article, and calling other MPs, who ever else I can get involved... I'm throwing Everything at them and then some... Cindy Perrodu, and the rest of your staff, I told you even though my mother is gone I won't stop, I will be a thorn in your side. I was on CHCH, and after the newest report that just came out I'm coming for your Job Cindy Perrodu. See you soon .#2023

My grandmother came into this home at the beginning of quarantine (beginning of april) after a hospital stay that left her unable to care properly for herself at home.So far so good! I am so impressed with the steps they are taking to ensure my grandmother remains safe within the home. The staff have gone above and beyond to make her transition into the home comfortable and pleasant! The staff even took the time to set up all her belongings and hook up her computer with webcam, mouse, keyboard, etc, and show her how to access skype to video chat with us!!We are more than pleased to have such accommodating staff, and a fantastic nurse practioner who thoroughly explains her assessments and plans of action to us.Big shout out to all the staff working their butts-off during this uneasy time. thank you for all you are doing for my grandmother!

Would like to share our experience with Linhaven Home for the Aged. Our Mom, 92 and currently in the throes of late stage dementia, now resides at Linhaven. An emotional decision to have been made by my sister's, however, our Mom could no longer be cared for at home. This decision, wrought with intense emotion and not made lightly, amidst the devastating toll covid has taken on all long term care homes, their residents and staff, throughout our province, our country and globally was a burden one would not wish upon anyone. Heart breaking and so overwhelming, for so many, our absolute thoughts and prayers we send to all who have suffered and are suffering during this most difficult time. From the moment our Mom arrived at Linhaven, in late December of 2020 and presently, the staff of Linhaven have welcomed our Mom with a warmth of caring and compassion and such an incredible level of competent nursing care and overall genuine level of concern for our Mom's health and well-being; it literally, has surpassed our expectations of what indeed, long term care can provide for a loved one during a global pandemic. Linhaven was chosen by my sister who currently lives in St Catharines and we will be forever grateful that this was the place to which our Mom now resides. From the first initial admission meeting with the director and various staff members who would be overseeing the care of our Mom, and had to be conducted over the phone, was comforting on so many levels. My sister's and I knew that after that call, our Mom was in the very best place possible. Thankfully, our youngest sister lives in St Catharines and is able to visit our Mom, because we do not live close to Linhaven and of course with this pandemic, there are strict visitor protocols to be followed. Being in the position of not being able to be there, requires one to lend a certain level of trust to those who are there, and caring for our Mom. Unequivocally, the staff at Linhaven are incredibly caring and highly skilled. Their level of concern for our Mom's health and her overall adjustment to living in Linhaven is their priority and at times, when we receive, sometimes, daily updates on how Mom is doing, it feels as though she is the only resident who lives there. We are so extremely grateful to ALL of the staff at Linhaven. We are often taken aback at the sacrifice and level of commitment that every single staff member there has. There are no words to adequately convey our most grateful thanks to Linhaven. During such a tumultuous time, how is it that you find people who come together collectively and work so tirelessly to keep so many of our aging population happy and safe ? Whatever it is they are currently doing, they are certainly on the right track. We will forever gratefully acknowledge and recognize Linhaven's staff for their unending dedication and warmth. Our Mom is holding her own" and we know

The care provided is amazing. Amazing staff who are really getting to know my mother as a person & are developing a plan that meets her needs. The rec staff are very resourceful in coming up with activities to keep my mother engaged, she always looks clean and cared for. My mother has settled in quickly, is laughing more & is making improvements daily. Highly recommend.

Linhaven Long-term Care
My name is Dr. Romancia Austin I am not employed at Linhaven Home For The Aged. I don't even live in Canada, however I receive several emails on a daily basis all pertaining to incidents and items of concern taking place at Linhaven For The Aged in St. Catharines Ontario Canada. I guess I am being mixed up with the other Romancia Austin. One item of concern is the sharing of bed bath basins. Should each resident not have their own bed basin? As well the home is lacking hip protectors. There is also a resident that uses a space heater in the room. Is this not a health and safety violation?

Linhaven Long-term Care
Our mother was a resident here for six years. Not only did she receive attentive care from all of the PSA's and nurses, but also from the staff doctors. She was never healthier than when she resided here, not to mention all of the religious and general programs they have. It was the hardest decision we ever made but also turned out to be the best. A truly outstanding facility

Linhaven Long-term Care
If your loved one has any mental capacity left, do not put them here. Those that do have mental capacity left WILL have lost their dignity soon after arrival. They want everyone to fall into the same profile so they can provide interval care and not meet special needs. Management is only concerned about their legal liabilities even when in the patient's best interest. Communication does not flow up or down here and every caregiver seems to have a different set of rules for the family and many have not been aware of my Father's specific medical needs. They hold great meetings but this soon fails as what is discussed is lost quickly as it is not communicated well down the through the organization. This is a shame because there are some great people here.

My Nonna was well taken care of. The staff are very attentive and good at their jobs. They treat people with respect and dignity. They also made my Nonna's last few years very comfortable and peaceful.

Linhaven Long-term Care
My grandmother has been here for about 5 years now. The caregivers are extremely kind and patient with the folks in here. Even now with the pandemic, when the staff is having to do a lot more than normal, I still see so much humanity and compassion in their work. Special thanks to the nurse with the cool tattoos who assisted with me visiting my grama Audrey yesterday, kindness like yours makes the difference during these tough times.
