Welcome centre staff are so nice and they gave us great info. Need to book in advance for the Mi'kmaw cultural tour, which we unfortunately weren't able to do this time but I will definitely do so the next time I visit Cape Breton. Wela'lioq, visitor centre staffers!

Perfect little gem. I felt so at peace on the water here. Bring your own kayak, canoe or paddle board and paddle around goat island and the other many little islands. Explore the lagoon and find mussel beds and eels swimming around. (i did not actually see them but saw all the ripples while in the lagoon. Sandy clear bottoms to clear rocky bottoms. Walk or run the trail. It is wheelchair accessible. The staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for people of all ages. If you want you can partake in the cultural tour. Learn a little more about the people who were here before any of us. This area is a little PEACE of heaven.
