Food was pretty good, especially the crystal noodles and the bbq skewers. Could have done without the buns. Quite pricey as the items can add up real quick.

Overall we had a positive experience here.Friendly staff. Yummy heavy-flavored eats you would find in any bbq shop. Place was very busy on a Saturday night so be prepared to wait if you show up during peak hrs.

This place is absolutely phenomenal! Their skewers are reasonably priced, and all quite tasty. My only complaint is that their isn't much green vegetables, like lettuce, to go with the skewers. Though their lamb and beef skewers are some of the best, and their restaurant is quite nice looking too!

I have lived in China, but cuisines here way better than majority restaurants in China.Especially the mungbeen noodle was so addictive and well harmonized withe others.Will definitely visit here!

I don’t like their foods and service terrible…never come back and Im not gonna recommend this restaurant to anyone.Tough lamb and service terribleCashier should hand me the change first …after that I can give the tip back to Cashier but she asked for the tip first… That was so rude. Not coming back here again.Bad experience ever.If this restaurant want more money you should do better…not just waiting for some more tip.

Ordered some skewers, grilled cod and scallops, skewers are good flavour, scallops are really small considering how much you paid, the grilled fish lacks some flavour, it’s quite bland and watery, bamboo shoots are pretty old, hard to chew, we were told it’s a 3 lbs fish but it’s maximum 2 lbs.We also got charged for 1.50 for to-go box. That’s a first. Never had that before!We paid with cash and when my husband was waiting to get the change back, then leave tip on the table, the waiter came back and demand for more tip, my husband told him give me my change back, then I’ll leave tip on the table. LoL. Guess they are not used to how Westerners get their change back first and then leave tip on the table. But it’s quite rude and absurd how he just request for more tip!Would leave no star if I can. More places down Kingsway, don’t waste your money here.Restaurant has two steps when you come in, it’s not stroller/wheelchair friendly! Restroom doesn’t have diaper changing station either. The high chair we had was pretty dirty.

It was ok...it was quite expensive for what it was, and the BBQ here was alright. The fish balls were ok as well.Our Hong Kong associate uncle Loui wanted to try deep fried ice cream here so bad - it was basically just mini cream puffs you can get from Costco in bulk.I've only ever been to one other BBQ place in metro Vancouver which is also on Kingsway called 'Northern BBQ' - I think I prefer the BBQ taste at Northern BBQ more and it was also less crowded. But I recommend trying both.

Northern Chinese style BBQ skewer. The food was good. Most skewer dishes were spicy. There were rice and soup noodles as staple items. Overall pretty good experience. Will return.

Happy Tree House BBQ Kingsway
Came here to meetup with friends and exchange Xmas gifts. The food was great and came pretty quick after ordering. The fish soup tasted very good! This definitely is a great place for eating meat and drink a beer or two. But the music is too loud and we need to yell at each other to really converse. I made a reservation especially they get super busy during dinner times.

Lamb and beef skewers are good. Fresh scallops also very tasty. Inside nice and brightly lit. Good atmosphere to hang with friends.
