Terrible service! The receptionist booked my daughter's eye examination for Dr. Mathangi Arun at 4:30 p.m. We confirmed our appointment twice prior to our visit. We went there on time and the receptionist did a quick check with my daughter and took notes about her eye concerns. She later took her health card so it is presumed that the doctor will take my daughter in for her eye exam. We then proceeded to wait until 5:00 p.m. because the receptionist was unaware of what time the doctor was going to take my daughter in for her checkup. The receptionist then later kicked us out at 5:00 p.m. saying that the next appointment came and mentions how the office closes at 5:30 p.m. My daughter had some serious concerns about her eyes and they postponed her eye examination by 10 days even after we came in and waited half an hour! We drove all the way to the office during a pandemic and waited for the eye exam just to get our appointment moved! Why would they book our appointment at 4:30 p.m. just to later kick us out? What kind of receptionist books our appointment knowing that there was not enough time. Not only was this a waste of our time but this was completely unprofessional. I would not recommend going here at all unless you want to waste your time.In response to your reply, the work schedule is irrelevant to the situation. My daughter went out of her way and made arrangements to stay back to receive the eye examination. The receptionist was aware of these arrangements and told us to come another day because the next appointment had arrived. If you were aware that the appointment was going to take time to accurately assess the patient, then the office should book appointments accordingly. This is an irresponsible booking on your part. Due to the pandemic, it is not safe for my family to be making frequent visits to the office. This is inexcusable and unprofessional especially during this time.

Dr Arun is very knowledgeable and patient in explaining optometry matters in detail. She's a reliable source for me and my children. Her office is welcoming and staff always provide prompt service.

We visited Dr. Arun for my daughter's first eye appointment this weekend. We had such a pleasant experience with Dr. Arun and her office. My daughter is 3 years old and was understandably a bit hesitant with seeing the doctor - she was worried that an eye check meant someone was going to touch her eye! While it took some convincing to get her to the appointment, it ended up being such a pleasant experience for my toddler. Dr. Arun was very sweet and instantly put my daughter at ease. She has great chairside manner and was good at maintaining my daughter's attention while checking her eyes. I found her to be extremely professional, thorough and kind. My initially hesitant toddler, ended up coming home and acting as an optometrist, checking her little brother's eyes!!! Super happy with the service and will be booking our follow up appointment with Dr. Arun next year!

Not recommended! The Doctor thinks too high of herself that she is hard to reach. Doesn't want to communicate with her patient. Charged us $1,700 for her myopia treatment but to me it was a scam. Paid the full amount and my daughter wasn't even treated and nothing has changed. After paying such amount, we were just running late one day for an appointment because of a snowstorm where the roads were bad and we are driving an hour away from her, we even called to ask them if it was ok, they confirmed that it was but next thing you know we got a call telling us that we need to be reschedule! I find it very inconsiderate knowing that we've been seeing her for a long time already (all unreliable receptionist in between all the times that we saw her). I tried to ask if I can talk to her over the phone but NO, she can't even face or talk to her clients. First time I've encountered this kind of attitude from a doctor! Don't waste money with this wanna-be Doctor, she's not worth every money and time! Wouldn't get the treatment you'll need and scam you.

It's a nightmare. I visited Dr. Arun for eye exams for my two children and myself last year. After the visit, I realized that my insurance does not cover my eye exam fee. I paid 100$. When the receptionist booked my kids and me for the next appointment, I told her that I will not have another eye exam because my insurance does not cover the fee. She told me that Dr. Arun still wants to see me and make sure that I'm ok. The next appointment is free for me. I was very touched by the kindness of Dr. Arun. The next appointment was postponed many times. Finally, Dec. 16, 2020, we visited Dr. Arun. However, this time, things turn upside down. After the exams, Dr. Arun told me that my daughter needs a pair of eye glasses and for me as well. The eye glasses is very expensive in her clinic. So I only bought one pair for my daughter. I paid 286$. It was the cheapest frame in the clinic, the basic lens with a filter. However, after I paid the money, the receptionist did not provided me an invoice! I was very uncomfortable. Then, the receptionist asked me to pay for my eye exam. I was shocked. After I explained the situation. Dr. Arun asked me, you are not able to pay for your eye exam?" I was invited back to clinic for a follow up! After explanation and explanation

I was sent an automatic attachment for insurance forms. After spending time filling out the information I was told in the office that I would still need to pay and then submit an insurance claim. They shouldn't send it out if it's useless. The doctor was not there and the procedure was done by the receptionist who made us wait even though there was no one else there. We couldn't ask questions about the what was necessary at home as she is not qualified to answer

Today I went to Mount Joy Eye Care at 3.45 p.m because my daughter had an appointment at 4.Today morning they phoned me and reminded me that the appointment is at 4. When I went there the boy who was there in the reception seat was with another call so I sat there for more than 10 minutes and I also didn't want to disturb him as I felt that he was doing an interview over the phone. Then a lady came with 2 kids and she was standing at the desk and after the boy was done with the call, he asked for the lady's Health card and then ours. But they took that lady before us saying they have the appointment at 4 and said ours is at 5.Then another lady receptionist came and asked for the health card again. I was really disappointed about what happened today. I had to cancel my appointment. Is this how you treat the customers?I even went with my mom who is 89 years.

Will you trust a doctor with a business interest in mind? She is super pushy to purchase eyeglasses at her clinic. I won't go there anymore and I even doubt her prescription. Going to have a second opinion to see how bad it can be. Please be careful!Updated:After obtaining the second opinion, I realized that it was a big mistake to visit this doctor. 1. She charged 130$, the other one charged 80$, she charges more but only got job half done, the prescription is not precise and very different from another doctor. I rather trust a doctor spend time to exam and conduct the full exam than a doctor rushes and skip a big part of exam.2. With the amount of money to purchase one pair of eye glasses at her clinic, you can buy 3 pairs somewhere else (comparing apple to apple) , the same lens, she charges 3 times higher, the frame (same brand) 3 times more.My advice to you, do not rush to purchase any eye glasses at the clinic, go compare somewhere else and make your own conclusion. There are plenty of good eye doctors out there and charge way less and do a good job, and most important without an eye glass business.

Very courteous and friendly staff. I needed a prescription delivered and it was at my door within hours. I was pleasantly surprised when my prescription arrived in a cute bag with a mug and eye glass wipe inside. It was a thoughtful gesture these uncertain times that went a long way. Thank you!
