Not sure what the hype of waiting is about but I went on a Wednesday- Feb 15 for passport application, I was in and out in 25 mins. Although I had an appointment, it still would have been about same time. Security woman at the entrance was nice and soft spoken, registration counter was also nice and to the point, greeted in both EN and FR.Final application counter could have been slightly better with more personalization as I was behind the glass screen and the space under it is not enough to pass the docs, and the lady who did the application was basically hidden behind the monitor, so it felt like an automated machine process apart from greeting and saying bye.

Staff were great, but office is understaffed. Only 3 of 12 desks open this morning and 30 people waiting for service on chairs in the office PLUS a 50 person lineup outside. Average service time is 10 minutes so do the math.... Luckily we lined up by 8:20AM, got seated by 8:40AM and got out by 9:40AM.

December 20th 2022.They open at 830, I got there at about 840 for a new passport. The person that helped me was VERY friendly and professional.I was in and out with everything paid for and completed by 915 without having an appointment!Definitely have all your paperwork filled out before going. I handed everything over including ID etc which made her job a lot easier as well. Not sure about all the negative reviews, perhaps those were people that went right after everything opened again. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience today!

Booking an appointment for passports is the way to go! It also helps to get your forms online and prefill them. We arrived 15 mins before our 11am appointment. Seen at 11:10am and got the paperwork for two passports processed by 11:30. Based on the reviews I was expecting some trouble but everything went smoothly. Everyone from the security guards to the processing clerk was pleasant and efficient. Now we wait for the passports and hope that they arrive as quickly as possible.

We arrived yesterday Monday October 17th, just before 8:30am, there was a line however it moved at a steady pace. The security at the front were polite and helpful, also offered a mask to those who may have not brought one. There was a man who asked the reason for our visit and directed us to sit in one of the chairs that were nicely spaced out. The wait was not too long at all. The employee in Station #2 help us, and she was very attentive and helpful as she was with the previous customers she assisted. ( I took noticed) I wish I remembered her name as she deserves to be recognized for her excellent customer service. I am sure it helped that my mom was very organized with her papers, but the employee also made the process alot easier with her patience knowledge and understanding.

This review has nothing to do with the staff. All were very nice and helpful, which is why I am giving 2 stars. The issue is staffing. I arrived today at 8:15 for an open time of 8:30. There were already at least 50 people in line. I waited for an hour and had to leave for another appointment. I returned at 11:15 and it was another hour and a half before I got in. When I was able to speak with a rep, who was very nice and helpful, the process took less than 10 minutes. Hours of waiting inline to do something that takes a few minutes is ludicrous! Pandemic or not, they need more staff to accommodate their customers.

Went to this location for the first time to apply for a child’s passport. I had made an appointment but still arrived early. Turns out I didn’t need to , at least for appointments they were running on time.Had no issues with staff, polite friendly and helpful. My appointment was a Wednesday at 10:30 AM. I arrived around 9:40. Was seen by 9:55 and all done by 10:05.It was great to know the appointment system is working as intended. Now for the 5 month wait.

They are very helpful. I made a mistake in a name but they asked me to correct and write initials. No fuss on that like other places example BSL for indian passport and OCI. They saw that the line was increasing so they asked the staff who was at the welcome desk to start helping on application and hence lines were moving fast. Overall a good experience.

Service Canada is utterly useless and proof that government and officials do not care about anything but their own wallets, and they don't care about anyone but themselves.Their location is also in the middle of Oshawa's skid row. Not exactly a safe spot to go and sit for 45mins.
