Hertz Car Rental - Winnipeg - 1577 Erin Street HLE

Do not go here! They charged my Ukrainian friends a few days later a second time for days that they did not use the vehicle at all. They had to change their accounts and everything. Now their bank is investigating why the charge was made and where the money went. It seems from the lower star reviews this company is trash and the people are awful scam artists. Immigrants beware of this company.

I have had the opportunity to rent cars at various locations around the world. However, I regret to inform you that my recent experience at your location was far from satisfactory.Despite having made an appointment to pick up a car, I arrived to find there was no vehicle available for me. This kind of mismanagement is extremely disappointing. In addition, your services offer pick up and drop off for customers, yet I was not provided any assistance to return to my home.As a customer, I feel ignored and believe that the company doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction. Moreover, the staff didn't even offer an apology or try to assist me in any way.This unfortunate incident caused me to miss my flight training. As a result, my school levied a $75 charge. I also incurred a $35 Uber fare to reach your location. To avoid further expenses, I decided to take a bus home and had to endure a 30-minute wait in -25°C weather.This experience was very distressing and has severely dented my confidence in your service. I strongly suggest that you reconsider the staff and management at this location to prevent similar incidents in the future.I would have preferred to rate my experience less than one star if it were possible.I hope this feedback is helpful for you to improve your services.

Poor service. Ask for a car for MPI claim, they wouldn't commit to having a car for me as an MPI claim. When I told them I am driving in from LDB, MB that didn't matter. Would have to wait till end of day to see if they would have an MPI car...

I had booked a smaller vehicle but was able to upgrade to a bigger vehicle due terrible road conditions and wanting to feeling more safe. I also called in to book the car for an extra day and customer service made it work! Car was awesome and the pick-up and drop-off were quick. Shout out to Graham for making my rental experience easy. Will definitely be renting from here again.

My wife and I rented a vehicle through Expedia in October 2022 from the Dollar Munroe Ave location. We picked the car up and proceeded to go on our holiday. At some point in our time away the tires on the car started to shake and vibrate. I called the office and was given a number of solutions, including me calling and organizing to get the car repaired. I ended up chatting with Graham from the Erin St location in Winnipeg and he encouraged me to get the car repaired at a dealership that our son works at in BC. He assured me that I would be refunded the amount paid when I brought the vehicle back. Upon returning the vehicle I presented the bill and was told that I would have to email a copy of the bill to the operations manager at the Erin St location, Harpreet. I did so and heard back from him that I would not be charged for the day the car was in the shop and I would receive a $ 45 certificate for our next rental with Hertz, valid for one year. I called him back and left a message for him to call me as I wanted a refund for the amount I spent repairing their vehicle as promised by Graham. It has been several weeks now since I returned the vehicle and numerous calls and messages for Harpreet to call me back to discuss. To date, no responses, and my disappointment in the Erin St office grows. If I could I would give a no star review. I hate to say it, but I will NOT rent from the Hertz family again.

I don’t normally share bad reviews, but this one I must.I was “served” / “helped” by two men on December 23, 2021 at around 10:30 AMA few things.1. I was told that if I return the car at 10:30 AM instead of 10:00AM, they wouldn’t charge the extra $25. Result: they charged the $25 and I didn’t notice until I reviewed the receipt later. I tried to go over solutions with them, but all they could do was send a gift card.2. I had to wait 20+ minutes to simple return my car. There was only one person running around trying to help everyone (he was newer, so I understand). I asked if there was someone else who could help me (there was a man sitting on his computer behind me), but the guy said he’s the only one. There were multiple errors on my receipt. Gas price, mileage, and the extra charge.3. I have empathy and understand that everyone has bad days, but the two gentlemen working with rather unfriendly and it was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had in my life.This is the first time I’ve ever felt called to write a review like this, but I don’t want anyone else to experience this.I hope Hertz can rectify this.

Awesome service. Prices were fair. We got our hands-on KIA SPORTAGE. Loved the car. Basically the car was brand new. Looking forward to booking it again soon.

I had a seamless experience with pick up and drop off, all thanks to Carrie working the front desk on both occasions. When I didn’t like the car they had set aside for me, she offered a variety of other vehicles within the same class. The one I wanted was dirty and she had the staff clean it up immediately. Upon return I was in a rush to get to the airport and Carrie responded by bringing me to the airport herself to make sure I would get there on time.Carrie’s customer service blew me away and is the reason I will continue to rent from this location whenever I go back to Winnipeg.Bonus: They had the best prices in town.
