Bell Island

Once off the ferry, there is nothing to do, no maps, no signage, no guidance, nothing to indicate something to do. No restaurants. Not worth going there.May be interesting to take a boat tour around and see the cliffs and caves.Strongly recommend that the Bell Island Community and the tourism board unite and work together to properly promote things to do, see, experience, explore, maps, history, directions, signsSuch a shame

Services offered to the public here are a shame. Public updates are a joke. If you come here be prepared to stay a night in case they decide to announce another pathetic excuse to stop running. Vessels are broken down far too often. I bet maintence is at a minimal and the reliablity of these services suffer. Crews appear lazy and they often do not use proper hand signals to guide your vehicle onboard. The only time there is any decent service is during tourist season. Thanks for supporting your locals.... not.

Beautiful place to visit. Especially the bell island mine museum. Ferry experience was the best part.

Safe and well organized ferry station. The ship has enough space. The staff are friendly and professional. They allow people to explore while inside the shipUnfortunately they only take cash payments. No debit or credit cards. So be prepared with cash and coins.Their operations are safely done. They can improve on their time management.To cross over to the Bell Island you definitely need the ferry.Nice restaurants around to eat some good seafood.The Bell Island itself is beautiful. The people are very friendly and welcoming. It is really an ancient Island with a very small population of about less than 2000 people. There's also a mine where Iron ore and other minerals are extracted. Though the mining activities have reduced over the years and in recent times due to depletion. The resources have almost been exploited completely.Not so much economic activity, so the younger folks don't live here, they move to the big city side in search of job opportunities, leaving mainly elderly people on the IslandI loved the peace, calm and serenity of the place. The beautiful view of the ocean and the blue sky. It's really relaxing away from the busy city side.
