Picket Fences Property Management

I have been using their services for the last 4 years, after my previous property management company was an absolute nightmare and cost me about $20,000. I found them by referral on reddit and since using them I have never had a vacancy for longer than a month and they have been very helpful working through some repairs in my old house. They have been friendly and accountable. I would highly recommend.

Picket Fences has been managing our Saskatoon rental property for just over two years. They managed the tenant recruitment process and found excellent tenants. Any needed repairs are promptly taken care of; repair staff do a good job. Financial reports are complete and on time. PF staff are friendly and professional - my husband and I definitely recommend their services.

We've been renting from Picket Fences for almost 2 years now. They have been really great at getting things fixed and communicating with us when they needed to enter our place. We have no complaints.

Picket fences is hands down the best rental company I have ever rented from. From the first time we met with Claire she was nothing but exceptional. When dealing with situations good or bad Claire remains professinal and composed. Promptly dealing with any issues in the home, whether they are repairs or problems with other tenants Claire gets them dealt with in a timely and respectful manner. Would 10/10 recommend renting through Picket Fences Property Management.

While living at an apartment managed by PF, I had a good experience. The building was cleaned regularly. Any concerns I had were addressed and taken care of as soon as they were able to. Other then some miscommunications here and there, they were generally great at what they do.

Horrible company. horrible to deal with. Claire is an absolute nightmare of a person. She is mentally unwell and disgusting, she shouldnt be working in this profession. This company is slumlord run they want unstable people instead of good tenants who pay their rent on time because then they can harras them and not fix things. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS.

We had a very negative experience with Picket Fences and would not recommend them to anyone. The landlord we dealt with primarily goes by Steph, and we were subjected to unprofessional behavior as I'll describe here.First, there were chickens in the backyard despite bylaws restricting them. The coop was poorly fenced so the animals would often be found free-roaming the backyard. My dog was taken to the vet as he had ample access to the eggs laid in the backyard as well as the garbage that was fed to them. Don't go thinking we had any free egg perks; that certainly wasn't the case.In the winter, the furnace broke down a handful of times. Steph notified us that if the temperature was to hit 17 degrees, she would ensure it was addressed immediately. However, that was not the case. It's a good thing we had cold weather camping material to survive the harsh 7 degree house temperature. We were not compensated in any way for the same and Steph displayed no immediate urgency to address our safety when it was -40 out.There was also an incident where she arrived unannounced without knocking to show the house to an inspector. I was embarrassingly caught in my intimates and my roommate had an unknown man walk into her room where she was laying as I didn't have a chance to warn her prior to his intrusion.Another surprise came in the fact that one of the locks to our house didn't actually lock. I found this out by accident one day as I tripped and fell into the door and it opened. We live in a less than safe area of Ave H where my car was broken into. You can only imagine our shock to find that one of the locks weren't working. Thankfully, our lease termination was around the corner at that point.Finally, the move out inspection. Steph stated she would provide us with a cleaning list 3h prior to our final walk out and then failed to provide same. She had never made mention of this list prior. We ensured the house was reasonably clean as we should, yet she charged us $470 for cleaning and minor damages that in my opinion were largely uncalled for.I'm sure this is lengthy enough as is. All in all, I work as a professional and have lived in 6 different accomodations during my time in SK. I have never had anything negative to say about any landlord in the past, but this was entirely beyond my level of tolerance. This will certainly be addressed with the appropriate ORT authorities. Do yourself a favor and rent anywhere else.

Picket Fences has been so great to work with as we rented out our house. They were responsive, professional, listened to all our concerns and provided friendly, helpful feedback. We would highly recommend them!

At the time of writing this Picket Fences has been my property manager for over 7 years. They have kept the building clean, responded to maintenance issues quickly, checked smoke detectors routinely, and reply to phone calls or texts usually the same day. If I had to move I would definitely look at listings they had available.
