Louisbourg Lighthouse
Plenty of parking, a small public toilet, you can get right up to the lighthouse if you're able to walk up a steep, rocky/stoney trail on one side or a slightly less steep grass trail on the opposite side. Interesting information on the plaques. Stunning views all around! You can see Louisbourg fortress in the distance on a clear day. Keep hold of small children, more so near the cliff edges etc as there's nothing to prevent falls. Well worth a visit if you enjoy sea views. FYI, you can't get inside the lighthouse.

Can't say enough about this place. Worth a visit. Whether its for the scenery, the pounding ocean waves against the rocky shores, or for the incredible history that surrounds this entire place. Looking across the Harbor to see the fortress Louisbourg. Amazing !!

Louisbourg Lighthouse
This is another beautiful spot not far from Sydney. The views are great with rugged coast line. You can go for walk along the trail, which is not tough and should be easy for all age and all skills levels and physical ability. You can watch the waves for hours and at times you may get massive waves crashing against the stoney coastline and sea stacks. Sun sits on the opposite side behind the lighthouse, so it must be a beautiful view if you can get there for sunrise. I would say bug spray is a must especially if there is no wind. Plenty of parking and though there is a gate, I have never seen it closed even well after the sunset and darkness.

Great piece of history, fairly easy drive to get to with lots of parking and beautiful views of the ocean and Fortress Louisbourg across the bay

I've been here a few times. It's always nice to sit on the rocks and overlook the Atlantic ocean.

Beautiful spot! The cliffs are really something amazing to look at - lots of sea birds to spot and crashing waves. The lighthouse itself was a bit of a let down - a good splash of paint and it could rival Peggy's Cove with its scenery.

An amazing place for hiking, taking photo, and enjoying the beautiful nature landscape. It is our first time here but definitely we will come back. So love this place!

Love this day spent in past history. Great day here, including hours at the Fort. Love the twin Adirondack chairs and the interpretive markers around the site. Nice views and trails along the ocean cliffs. Love.

Breathtaking and beautiful! Would recommend making the trip out here to see this. Trails to hike but amazing just to wander around the lighthouse. Can get quite windy so dress warm. Also can get wet so bring good shoes that won’t get soaked.
