Not too busy, everyone's pretty spread out. My 12 year old some had a snowboard lesson and loved it. The instructor was amazing with him and it was more of a hang out with them so my son was much more attentive. We had amazing cocoa afterwards, the hornets nest has a great view and warm drinks for the adults. The rental process was easy as well.

Alpine was definitely better back when we were kids. Sometimes we actually get snow it’s fun to shred the fresh pow. They definitely have a nice little park every year. Just the hill is smaller compared to other ones just means more runs in. But this place will always be one of my favorite spots to snowboard always so close to home you can’t beat it. And growing up here as a kid brings back so many good memories will all my friends. It’s cool we can still all meet up and have fun together!

My first experience with skiing so nothing to compare it to but overall a fun experience. The instructors (esp Mark) were WONDERFUL!! So patient and kind and truly made the trip enjoyable. All of the staff were very professional and courteous with the exception of the 1 young jerk with the rental equipment. The lodge itself was old and not very clean. We came at the very end of the season so no crowd at all but also no group lessons. Individual lessons plus lift tickets which were never used made it very expensive. The magic carpet thingy didn't even work!!

Enjoyed my first time there with my family and friends. I would have given it 4 stars but the rope run near the bunny hill was not working and the chair lift near the middle (can’t remember which run it was) was dangerous. It had a buildup of snow and was moving way too fast so if guys skis were dangling down at it you would be pulled off the chair. The runs themselves are what you expect for lower Michigan. Nothing too great but still fun. They have a terrain park for the thrill seekers. It is close to home so I’ll be back soon.

Nice overall for beginners snowboarding. The instructors we,very had have all been kid friendly, helpful, and most of all patient. Ensure you arrive early if you are renting especially if you have a group lesson because that process gets congested the hour before. Also, some signage about the fast track line versus other ticket counters could be improved. Still, worth a visit if you are local to the metro Detroit area.

Alpine Valley is a destination! It is a fabulous place to ski/board at. We love the awe-inspiring in and outdoor environment! It's a great place to just walk n hang around. We used to live at the base of 'the mountain'!We have been going here for many years, and bonding as a family. The owners seem to understand what people want. I have always sensed order here. Can not say enough about A. V. !!! (OUTRAGEOUS BOARDING AREA, no pix yet!!!) M. E. F. Waterford

Close to the house, they do a great job of making snow. The staff is friendly but needs a major overhaul. Been in the condition it's in sense 20 yrs ago now. Overall 3 out of 5 stars

Our grandson had an amazing time, which is great so I would like to give this place a 5 star rating; however, I feel it prudent to include that we were advised to be there an hour early and we were but we still ended up being late for our kiddos snow board lesson because the place was packed! Also, it was quite cold, and both of the hot cocoa machines were out of order. The most important thing to mention, though, is that there was wood fencing rather than adequate protection for novice skiers and snow boarders alike at the bottom of the bunny hill. There should have been something softer like hay bales or possibly old tires.

First time ever being here and I really enjoyed it. It was quite busy but the size of the mountain makes it feel very open with plenty of room for everyone. I'm used to going to Mt Holly and Pine Knob which are fine, but definitely more for the more intermediate to advanced. Alpine Valley is the best place for newer people to start, especially their terrain park. Nice and small, not intimidating, and very good to practice on before trying the bigger stuff.
