Taylor Head Provincial Park
Kind of a mini oasis of a calmer salt water beach. White sands and clear picturesque waters. The only thing is the water till august or late day may be the only time it will be swimmable for most. Water is exceptionally chilled 12-14 degrees until then so be prepared to be shocked at how cold it is. Few jelly fish floating around here and there nothing too serious. If I had a kayak or canoe this would be an ideal spot to visit. Please note the only washrooms are at the parking lot and there is a foot wash and change rooms as well. Parking may be limited. This beach is quite remote so expect a long drive and take stops where you can.

Beautiful beach, nice hard sand to walk on and crystal clear water. There are hiking trails and a picnic area here as well. Lots of space so you don’t feel crowded even if it’s busy. This is one of my favourite beaches in Nova Scotia. I only wish it was a little closer to HRM.

Taylor Head is a excellent park to check you could visit 4-5 times and check out a completely different area. With multiple beaches and trails. The area filled with sites weather it be the shore the wetlands the woods or the beaches. There is provincial camping sites. Your a 10 minute drive from sheet harbor if you need a bite to eat and a beet after your hike. Definitely put it on your list!

Beautiful foggy hike, with a stunning view of an Osprey nest toward Bull's head. Clean changing rooms and bathrooms, and a lovely dip in the cold early summer ocean

Great hiking trails here. We made the mistake of hiking after rain the day before, so a little slippery on the Spry trail. Beach is fantastic with clear turquoise water, though sure to make the boys play hide and seek.

We hiked this trail in early June. When we arrived, it was a beautiful warm sunny day. We started our hike at the beach end of the trail on the spray bay trail(Red markers) The trail was a bit muddy in places but you could navigate around these areas. By the time we reached the headland trail ( yellow markers) the fog had started rolling in and the temperature probably dropped about 5 degrees.. maybe more. However it really did add to the beauty of the hike. It felt like we were walking along the highlands of Scotland. I loved it. We experienced a few different climate changes. I did have a sweater with me, but wished I had also brought a hat with me. The fog was thick and cool, with a strong breeze. I would consider the trail to be moderate hiking. We hiked the the large loop in about 3 hours with a few breaks for snacks and pictures. I would hike this trail again. I loved it. It was a great challenge

Long drive but worth every drop of gas. This place is gorgeous with white sand. Water is warm in September. Excellent for paddle boards

This beach is a tropical looking paradise right in NS. Just outside The Halifax/ Dartmouth area near Sheet Harbor. Quite a drive into the beach area bit well worth it. Some of the greatest sunset views in the evenings on the way back out the road. Bathroom facilities clean and right off boardwalk by parking. Lots of parking and picnic eating areas. Water tap for washing feet and stuff off in a grassed area just off the boardwalk as well. Small but pristine, white sand turquoise water beach. Waters are clear and calm as it is in a sheltered cove. One end has a rock ridge which is off limits due to preservation of piping plovers. Lots of beautiful birds in the evening as well. Blue herons, seagulls, piping plovers, sand pipers...Awesome

Huge, gorgeous and clean white sand beach. Not overly crowded when we went (late June). Water was still freezing and too cold for us to swim but could still play at the waters edge and had a great, fun beach day. Looking forward to returning soon.
