Great selection and lots of parking space. I strongly urge shoppers to take advantage of the customer card, which adds additional savings on top of prices that are generally quite reasonable. I have found various items that were considerably less costly than Amazon.

It was so busy (due to their store closing sale), and the staff were all busy helping others. TBH, I was like a deer in the headlights, but with the help of a friendly customer, I was able to find so many options and make a great fabric choice.

INSANE prices! I can order from the US, pay shipping AND exchange and still have it be 30% cheaper.

When Red Deer Fabricland closes, Central Alberta customers within a 100 km radius will be affected. Over 2,000 students within the local and nearby school districts are affected. Both Sewing and Fashions Classes as part of the Alberta Curriculums. School Drama productions require fashion fabrics such as polyester, satin, fun fur, etc. These will require trips to stores located in Edmonton or Calgary. The time and expense for teachers to travel to make those fabric choices will reduce the budget allowed for those programs. This hassle for students and their parents to purchase basic supplies will undoubtedly affect the number of students who would normally continue to sew and become your life-long customers. Red Deer has a large immigrant population: there are not any stores which sell the modest dresses and hijabs of Muslim women: they must import them at high cost, or make them. With the closing of Red Deer Fabricland immigrants learning to sew at the Central Alberta Immigrant Women's Association (C.A.I.W.A.) will not have access to the Fashions Fabrics they need for classes. Commercial businesses which provide custom sewing services will have to travel approximately 3 hours in total to larger centres in order to purchase supplies. This means a loss of production time and affects the hours available to customers. The added expenses and lost production time will be passed on to consumers as increased inflation. Your closure also affects the local Sewing Machine Sales and Service businesses who support Sewists. And finally...the staff here are an excellent resource of information and knowledge for customers in a niche market. They have been loyal and invaluable during the Covid Pandemic as folks in Red Deer and area put their sewing skills to work sewing masks when nothing else was yet available. Your staff risked their lives to help save lives! They cannot simply hang around and wait for you to re-open 2 years down the line: your most precious resource will be gone. The location has been awful for years due to the proximity to the safe injection and mat sites. Several years have passed to find another permanent space, rather than the temporary additional cost of hiring security. The financial impact of the pandemic in Red Deer has meant the closure of many businesses: to be told you can't find a new commercial space is frankly unbelievable! Nature abhors a vacuum...when this Central Alberta monopoly is abandoned it creates opportunity for competition to come in to the area, decreasing Red Deer Fabricland profits. That is IF it even returns. With the impact to so many people and businesses, including your own, I implore you, for all of our sakes, to try harder to find another commercial property, Sooner not Later.

Always have a good experience I'm the store.Good selection, with a big clearance section (although fabric is labeled as unknown/blend.)When employees are free they ask if I need help & are friendly at the cash register.Expect longer wait times at higher traffic times.
