The quality of the sewing was acceptable but the management of the project and the pattern making was horrible. I chose E.star international / Midland on the agreement that the pattern and prototype would be created in Toronto, allowing me to have direct access and expedient alterations. This didn't happen.Instead my project was delayed and then left to the team in China. The first prototype was completely wrong! Instead of a hoodie they supplied a jacket with a collar and a detachable hood. The body was two inches too short and the detachable storm cuff was sewn inside out making it very difficult to remove. ~ clearly no one had looked at my tech pack.Midland then offered to supply a pattern maker in Toronto. The Toronto pattern maker agreed that the prototype was poorly thought out. After this meeting I felt much more confident that the second round would be much better. I was wrong. The hood was again not correct, completely ignoring the pattern that was sent and the storm cuffs were again sewn inside out. This time the body length was 10cm too short while the arms were now 4cm too long! It was a bolero jacket for an orangutan. (see attached photos)If this was my experience trying to make the prototype… I could not trust them to follow through with quality and integrity on 2-5,000 units.That said, the quality of the sewing was good… but there are better manufacturers you can rely on.
