Environmental Youth Alliance
I started volunteering with the EYA in 2014 and continue to volunteer with them. I've acquired a great amount of knowledge about many topics such as; native plants, pollinator ecology, native plant identification and uses, and seed saving. As a volunteer I have had the privilege to work with the organization's excellent program coordinators who continue to support me. In addition, I got a paid job through Canada Summer Jobs for 6 weeks in the summer of 2018. This experience helped me further develop a good work ethic, learn more about nature, and contribute to the community. I would recommended the EYA to any youth who may have even the slightest interest in nature and gardening. This organization has helped me discover passions and interests that I may have never have developed were it not for the EYA.This is an incredible organization with kind, hard working, and brilliant staff at its core!

Participating in the EYA's programs (Youth Beekeeping, Pollinator Citizen Science) has given me a deeper appreciation for nature, and has helped me overcome some of my anxieties. I learned so much about pollinators and plants, and this knowledge makes me eager to go outside and enjoy it all. I was able to connect with others who were interested in pollinators, and became more comfortable in social situations. I've only had amazing experiences with the EYA, and I hope to create more soon!
