Excellent meal. We were a group of 7 and since they have such a small kitchen they can only do a family style tasting menu for groups larger than six. This ended up being great because they served us the entire menu. everything we had was excellent except one liver dish (I really do not like liver!). Lots of unique ingredients and menu changes daily. Inside is extremely small and we did feel a bit crammed in

Cute cozy small place on Harbord. Doesn’t have a sign, hard to find. The restaurant is very small and crowded. They were packed at 8:30pm on a Tuesday night. Servers are friendly but not delicate. Our table wasn’t ready until our reservation time so we had to wait to be seated. Once we got seated, we asked for wine recommendation and picked a bottle of wine. It took the server a long time to get us glasses and a ice bucket for the wine so the wine sort of became lukewarm. The menu was hard to read because it was in french but the server explained the whole menu.Food was nice. My favourite was the shrimp canapé. Very well balanced with perfect acidity, umami and texture. It sure did boost our appetite. The rest of the food was good but nothing particularly stood out other than the shrimp canapé.The servers kept asking to take the dishes away although clearly there were food on them. It made me feel like they were rushing us. When we needed a server, it was very difficult to get their attention. They sang the birthday song for my friend’s birthday but they messed up bringing it out which was a huge disappointment.I wish that the servers are more trained for a high-end, delicate restaurant like this. A restaurant that costs over $100/person needs to provide better professional service, instead of just being friendly.

Really cute French spot! While I only came for dessert, it was wonderfully made. The strawberry cake is a favourite and is as perfect as it comes, light, refreshing, and a welcome treat to end the day

Another hole in the wall on Harbord! You'll want to get a reservation, tables fill up quickly here. The menu here is seasonal, we tried basically everything that the staff recommended, and we couldn't go wrong! Definitely a place worth trying at LEAST once :)

Initially I was a bit skeptical, as the appetizers were a bit bland and we had a long (close to an hour) wait between our starters and mains. However, they totally made up for it with the conversation and samples of other dishes. The service (despite the wait) was excellent and wine recommendations were great. Mains were full of flavour and definitely worth the wait. Great intimate experience at this small French bistro. The daily changing menu keeps things interesting, but could run the risk of some hit or miss dishes.

I’ve been here twice and am definitely thinking of coming back soon. Really well made dishes that are unique and decently good value for a fine dining restaurant in Toronto. I also love the Jewish influence in some of the dishes. While the restaurant looks unassuming on the outside, it’s definitely worth a visit and I highly recommend it!

* A note on grades, I rate outwards from three stars. *TL;DR : meets expectations. Expect a nice meal.Dreyfus is a safe choice for oneself, or to recommend to friends. The menu is creative and architected in a manner to deliver several complimentary multi-course experiences. The kitchen execution is timely and well -presented.The wine list is extensive and well-priced. The staff are particularly well-versed in this respect. The service is professional and efficient. An additional caveat: I'm not fluent in Toronto's baseline quality for restaurants. Dreyfus may be exceptional for the market, but I'm rating against my Canadian experiences in (mostly) Vancouver and Montreal. Check my profile for comps.

Came to Dreyfus for a barkday dinner. Everything about the experience was pawsome, from the food to the drinks to the service. I’ll be wagging my tail when I can come back again. The menu changes frequently. Everything we had was doglicious! Portions were quite reasonable. Pictured here:1. Pommes dauphines - crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside, served with trout roe and crème fraîche.2. Shrimp and challah - very plump shrimp and a refreshing cucumber salad.3. Soft shell crab - fried to pawfection with roasted carrots and chilli oil.4. Halibut - lights, flaky, and moist, with crispy breading on top and a lemon butter sauce.5. Rhubarb curd tart - like a giant lemon meringue tart, but with pieces of rhubarb inside.6. Rhubarb dogtail5 woofs out of 5. Bone-appétit!

Loved the experience here! Soon as I walked in, it felt cozy and warm. We had no idea what to order and they were kind enough to bring out dishes from their menu when we told them our taste preferences. Everything was great and I'd love to go back!
