Chatters Hair Salon

It was my first time going to the salon in Micmac mall and I will definitely be going back! I saw Kim and he did exactly what I asked for and was incredibly nice. I'm not a chatty person while getting my hair done and he respected that and didn't try to force conversation. He was gave a great scalp massage and even rubbed my neck and shoulders as he put my cape on. Great experience and I'll be going back for sure :)

I visited to pick up products I was running low on and got some helpful advice from the lovely person at the checkout. It is always great to learn about new products coming into the store.

While my initial experience at Chatters was great, that was not the case this past Saturday. I did not receive anywhere near the colour I requested, the stylist was late starting and even more frustrating was that she was working on another client at the exact same time. While the staff are friendly, the noise level of the location is far too loud and this is not helped by stylists having loud, boisterous conversations with their clients as was the case right next to me. And why are there no chairs to sit on while waiting? I've never heard of that. Going to Mic Mac Mall is very out of my way and after Saturday's experience I will be hard-pressed to return.

The worst experience i ever have at first she said she can’t do the colour which i want without bleach. I said ok if you can do with bleach that’s fine do then she refuse and say she can’t give me same colour like how i got my hair colour from last 4 year i got it done blond , brown, red , black why she can’t colour. Then i ask her what she can do she say only burgundy . I refuse and choose to get hair cut with conditioning treatment. And the head wash it also feel like she didn’t want to do as it feel like i am washing my own hair nothing like saloon experience. And after hair cut she even didn’t ask me what style I want as i am the one who paying she just do easy blow dryer. I came here to get my hair done for my birthday specially but you guys spoil it .Also the old lady over there I don’t remember her name , i guess welda or velda when i told my stylist that i want hair done for my birthday on Saturday she laugh and said you should come a week before for colour not 2 days before like seriously. I spend 75$ for getting worst service. I reach home and tell my friends that i got conditioning treatment everybody laugh and say your hairs look same its just it becomes shorter nothing look like conditioning.I am going to tell all my friends and family who use to come here . Not recommending you guys now onwards and going somewhere else waste of my money and spoil my birthday.

I've been to this salon twice and both times have been a positive experience. The girls in the salon are really friendly and create a relaxing atmosphere. Robyn was my stylist on my recent appointment and she did a great job. Only did what I asked, a trim and I am happy with my hair.

The salon is filthy dirty. Needs a deep clean and esthetic update in Lighting, Furniture and Paint. Cheesy salon. Come on...you are hair designers. Do something interesting in the back that uplifts your stylist and energize them. Right now it's depressing.

For whatever reason, I'm not a fan of getting my hair cut and it's been over 2 years since I had a cut. But I've been desperately in need and so I booked here because the location is convenient. This salon is nothing luxurious, but I was very happy with my experience and the value. My wash, cut and dry was $40 and I'm very happy with my hair. I won't be waiting another 2 years.

I find the employees here to be incredibly helpful when I am looking for a product. The other day I went in with only the vaguest description of the product I was looking for, and the sales associate was able to find it within minutes. Other times I have gone in with a hair concern and was recommended a product that I would never have bought on my own but indeed worked perfectly.

Friendly enough, but I specifically asked if the had someone familiar with curly hair and was assured that was the case. It was not. Kim (m) did not use ANY curly methods whatsoever, and treated my hair like it was straight, adding inappropriate layers and thinning it out with a razor :(Was also difficult to communicate with. All in all not a good experience. I will definitely not be going back.

I was charged $50 for a centimetre trim my first time here.For some reason decided to go back to get my hair coloured some time later (I think I had forgotten that first time). The stylist decided that day was the perfect time to take an hour-long break. The dye over-developed, causing my hair to have bright brassy roots and muddy-coloured ends. It was a complete mess, which the stylist at least attempted to rectify free of charge. I ended up having to pay to have my fixed elsewhere, despite it having been obvious that this stylist had damaged my hair.Being the idiot that I am, I decided that maybe third time would be the charm and went back a few months later. I paid over 70 dollars for a semi-permanent dye that changed absolutely NOTHING. I took before and after pictures of the job they had done and there was literally no difference. The supervisor insisted that I pay for a service that I hadn't received- I did pay, because I didn't want to be a rude customer.After all of these negative experiences, I asked to speak to management. I was told the owner would call me back. I have followed up several times since and it is obvious she avoids calls from dissatisfied customers.I've tried to be polite about all of this, but it's clear this business just relies on new customers not knowing what they're getting into. I've warned everyone I know not to go here and they are spreading the word.
