Only reason why I go is to have my engagement ring inspected every 6 months for warranty purposes. I DREAD going every time because they try to upsell. EVERY. TIME. This time the sales lady saw me walking towards the store and before I was even IN the store she tried to sell me something. I said no. Then she pointed at the sign again. 2 seconds afterwards the guy at the computer says “have you heard…”.I understand it’s their job to sell stuff but they are PUSHY, it’s uncomfortable, and they can’t take no for an answer.

Got a ring as a gift took it out of the box to try it on. It was too big, so I called ahead to ask if we could return it or get it made smaller they told me that was okay. we also have the three year plan (it also states in the three year plan this was an option) . Not to mention my boyfriend paid good money for it. We get there ,we talked to the manger (bald man ) . He took it out and told me I couldn’t because it had “scratches” . AGAIN I ONLY TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX TO TRY IT ON. He told me right away there was nothing at all they could do. Again it was too big, I only tried it on. Nothing else I just got it two days ago . I was obviously upset and he started yelling at me . I had to walk away he was so unprofessional and disrespectful. I couldn’t even get it sent to the jewellers because it doesn’t fall under the “guidelines” of the ring. When they did not mention that, when my boyfriend bought the three year plan for it. The staff is rude , and not worth it. Definitely complaining to a head office . Don’t buy from here 0/10

Wife bought me a ring as a gift, and i didn't like it, so came back to return it 6 days later. They refused to refund (cause my wife decided to use her short name when she registered her account and it did not match her credit card) and even called security on me (because apparently their staff doesn't feel comfortable"

This review is dedicated to Darren the store manager. I was looking to replace my silver bracelet for a couple years. Recently I decided to try going to a jewelry store, even though I avoid them due to past experiences of being ripped off. Despite this I decided to take a look around southcenter mall to browse anyway.My dad and I decided to stop at Michael Hill to take a look and I ran into Darren. I had a good feeling about him as he was very understanding of my needs, budget, was fair and honest in helping me find a better silver bracelet than I had before, all within my budget.The only issue I had with it was too long for my wrist. I communicated with him and he refered me to a friend. I was skeptical about trusting a friend, let alone a sales person (again from my own personal experience. They're not all bad people) he allowed me the option to return the item with the receipt so as long it's within 30 days and brand new in packaging. This made me feel comfortable to give it a shot. The specialist modified my bracelet to fit perfectly on my wrist, and I've been thrilled ever since.I will certainly be back to the store in the future looking for him again

Found the engagement ring with my fiancee. She absolutely loves it. However I am disappointed that to insure the ring she has to pay to have it appraised. Micheal Hill could not provide any information on any of the diamonds in the ring just total diamond weight. Strange that there would not be a break down on what was put into their own design. Paid over $3000 and now have to pay to have it appraised. Not happy.

My boyfriend and I are in the market for gemstone engagement rings. We were not ready to make any purchases that day, but Darren patiently let me try on many different rings, entertained us with his funny anecdotes, and educated us on the properties of various gemstones. He also sized my finger for me so I would know what ring size get. It was an incredibly enjoyable educational experience with 0 pressure and we'd happy shop there when the time comes. Thanks Darren!!

A while back my mother bought a ring at a micheal hill in red deer, to replace a family ring which was stolen in a robbery, there was a warranty on the ring which they told us would be honoured at any micheal hill store. Surprise surprise, multiple of the small diamonds in the ring fell out, something we were told was covered by warranty. We brought them into this location and they claimed “the diamonds are still there, they’re just so clear you can’t even see them” which is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard, and we can also see the CLEAR INDENTS IN THE RING where the diamonds are missing. I don’t know if this is just this location, or micheal hill as a whole, but either way a TOTAL RIPOFF, and if your buying jewelry form here, be prepared for it to be lousy in quality, and for the scummy employees to lie when it inevitably breaks or loses its gemstones

Darren the GM is incredible and whenever I get my wife jewelry we go to this michael hill location. Thank you Darren
