Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse

Loved it! The explanations were both informative and descriptive, the people in the village were unassuming but very knowledgeable. Each character told us of their craft and their life in their own particular style. We got a peek at life as it must have been 100 years ago.

Loved this place. Made me think of my Nan and our Acadian roots. We could have spent days here for sure. So much to see and do.

We have been to many Nova Scotia museums but this topped them all. All the stories of the Acadians in Pubnico were presented by genuinely enthusiastic story tellers - we loved every bit of it

An authentic Acadian historical village in the heart of Pubnico, an Acadian down on the Southwest shore of Nova Scotia. The stories told at each of the villages restored houses are educational and at the same time entertaining. The village offers a piece of Acadian culture and history that is a must experience for all who visit, particularly fellow Canadians.

A 4.5 rating. A great little Acadian village with friendly and informative live resident guides. Comparable to a similar village in northern New Brunswick.

The animators were so generous and friendly. Don’t miss this stop! Whether you are a history buff or a science fan, or you are trying to amuse your family. Something for everyone! Definitely stop at the cafe.

While you are there, you have to go to the café. The coconut cream pie and the grilled cheese is to die for. It’s so worth it. They also have free samples for rappie pie.Usually places like this drive me crazy. The actors talk with an exaggerated accent, and use old slang. You can barely understand them, it’s too forcefully immersive. But this place was completely different. The staff there are hardly actors. They talk normally, and they actually are working on what they talk about (like knitting), instead of just having props lying around. Like the blacksmith; he makes nails for kids, and puts their initial on top as they watch. The workers know what they are talking about from experience, and for most of them, their families as well. You can tell they care about their history. It’s not just some summer job for them.

Very informative people. Just great. We had lunch there which was different. But tasty. Really good morning going through the place.

The people who work here are so welcoming and informative. My child had lots of fun learning about Acadians. A great time travel experience.
