Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
Great place to spend a few hours hiking, running, or riding your bike through the park! You'll be able to spot some deer, birds, and gophers throughout your walk. If you use the Alltrails app, you'll find your way without a problem but there are some trails that aren't really marked. Some parts contain about a 15-20 degree incline that you will need to walk up consistently for several minutes. There are not many places to hide away from the sun so if you go on a hot day, bring lots of water!

Sent from my iPhoneIf you're travelling from Calgary to Cochrane, you can take AB 1 West for about 36.5 km (approximately 22.68 miles) to reach Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. This park offers a unique experience of encountering cows, reminiscent of the time when First Nations hunted bison in Alberta and beyond. The park was once a part of the old Glenbow Ranch, established in 1903 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Provincial Park was founded in 2006 with support from the Government of Alberta and a generous donation of 6 million dollars from the Harvie family. To learn more about the history of Glenbow Ranch, you can read Alberta Park's (2017) article titled History of Glenbow Ranch."To preserve fescue grasses

Nice trails and views, been here both winter and summer and it's worth the effort.Bring hiking shoes if using the Tiger Lily loop, loose gravel.

It is a beautiful place to spend a day walking, cycling or even be with your family away from the city. This is what a typical ranch in the foothills looked like located next to the Bow River before in enters the City of Calgary all thanks to The Waverly Family for donating the land to the people of Alberta.

So many deer! Its absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend if you are in the area. There are a few different trails you can take which we’re very quiet.

Love walking the dogs here! Great in all seasons does get a little hot for the dogs in the summer with no shade in the main trail in the valley. Would recommend early morning if you have the puppies on a hot day in the summer.
