Very unprofessional, City gets the taxes from us but does nothing for us.

This is our second time going through the process of getting a permit for my basement renovations. The first permit was for basement finish; this time around we went with the advised provided by our architect for two unit dwelling. Our experience from the beginning to the end has been nothing but profession and pleasant one. All inspectors who came for inspections were knowledgeable and always willing to provide guidelines to ensure renovation work is safe and compliance to Ontario building code. We word like to show our gratitude to the following inspectors, Mr. Derek Graham, Mr. Gerry Bick and Mr. Gamal Messih. Thank you all for your patience with us during the process.

We have had a VERY difficult time with our Permits here. From the initial application in Nov 2017 to the permit being issued in August 2018. The closing of that permit took almost 10-weeks after the final inspection! Now to go through the process of getting approval as a two-unit dwelling is quite difficult as well. I would very much like to give feedback on our experience to someone in oversight of the Permit Office. It is highly discouraging to Residents who want to go through the proper channels and do things correctly when the permit process is atrociously long with some departments who drag their feet and aren't willing to help. Don't get me wrong, some do, but others don't and it gets frustrating.

I am so pleased after meeting one of Inspector name KOFI MORIEL , I feel so lucky after getting his service for my basement renovation . He came and checked everything in detailed compare to some inspector avoid to come at site.It is great help to people who don't know anything about CITY CODE. I strongly recommend city his name for BRAVO..He is true asset of city and people of city

Very disappointed, made us wait for 30 mins and later comes and say that sorry we your appointment is over, where as we came before our schedule time. They are simply playing with the new pandemic system . Horrible staffs.

We booked a inspection with the city for water line upgrade, and inspector didn’t call the first time at what time she will be coming. The second time we booked inspection for jan 18th 2023 and I was told that someone has to be there all day from 8-4:30 because inspector can come any time. We had a worker wait all day for inspector Patricia Luis and she never showed up or bothered to call.
