Panda Mandarin Language Programs - Midtown Toronto

7-yo son loves it and has been speaking more Mandarin with confidence and enthusiasm! He loves the in class lessons and the MLP homework as well. We started off only one week summer camp to now weekly lessons. Friendly and supportive staff!

My son has been with PandaMandarin since Covid and at first I was skeptical of learning a new language virtually, especially since my son was 8 and had no prior experience. We couldn’t be happier with our decision and our son is flourishing. He enjoys the classes as they are very engaging and entertaining. They teach children through song and games as well to hold their attention. We 100% recommend!!!!

Just finished the winter semester and our 3 year old loved the classes and wanted to continue. Most of the time it’s just one or two other toddlers in our class so it feels very private! Highly recommend as the teachers are very friendly and patient!

The pandemic has changed the way my daughter learns Mandarin – for the better. Initially the virtual group class provided continuity of Mandarin instructions. But as my daughter’s other extracurricular activities competed for time, we switched to one-on-one virtual classes with Sun 老师。 This forum allows my daughter to have a curated curriculum tailored to her level and interests. The once per week immersive experience with her teacher continues to be fun, relevant and educational. We love the way Toronto Mandarin School continues to provide different learning modalities. All the teachers are excellent at working with children of all ages and the administration is very parent-focused on providing a first-rate experience. 谢谢。

My 4 year old son just attended a week of summer camp at Panda Mandarin and loved it! He especially loved the daily visits to the park and the daily STEM activities. My son does not speak any Mandarin but he did not have any issues adjusting as the teachers are very patient and speak both Mandarin and English.

My kids (4 and 6) have been to their summer camps and weekly classes during the school year. From a non-Chinese speaking household, they really enjoy the program. It is taught at their own pace and the See Saw app that they use really supported us to review the lessons throughout the week whenever we can spare time at home. They just made learning Mandarin fun and relevant with interesting topics. My kids love the teachers - they are all so encouraging and caring. I highly recommend their programs! The teachers are great! they mix in singing, arts and crafts into the class which our kids love. Fun while learning!

My sons (ages 4 and almost 6) participated in Panda Mandarin summer camp this past July, and loved it! Fun learning themes, thoughtful programming, and engaging activities for the kids. The staff team was dedicated and professional. My husband and I were really impressed by how much our boys' Mandarin fluency improved, in such a short time. We are looking forward to starting the school-year weekend program tomorrow!

Highly recommend! Our child has been attending Panda Mandarin in person since last year and she loves it. The class and teacher are very engaging, making it easy for our child to learn a new language even though she did not really know any Mandarin beforehand. The class pace is just right and activities are really fun for her and they teach the beginner kids in bite-sized chunks. They sing songs, do art activities and learn the language through interesting ways to keep the kids’ attention so they enjoy the classes. I’ve noticed the teachers are patient and energetic with the kids. Sometimes when my daughter is at home she’ll start singing a full song in Mandarin — it’s adorable! I found that Panda Mandarin does a great job of making classes available to differing levels of fluency (from total beginner to more experienced), which means that kids who are similar ages are grouped together and learn more easily because the classes are catered to their skill level. When we review with her at home, there is a recording of the words she learned and other helpful take-home sheets so that we’re able to support her learning, even with our limited / non-existent Mandarin skills.We tried a different Mandarin school previously and found it to be very difficult for our daughter to follow along (that teacher spoke 95% Mandarin and my child could not understand what was going on in the class). The other school was not very engaging so it left my daughter bored and she didn’t want to attend those classes anymore.The Panda Mandarin school is quite well-run administratively, as well. They’re quick to respond to emails or questions, and enrolment/registration is pretty easy. They often run camps and I found those to be really great (we were at a strike camp for a couple days). The location is really convenient by car or transit and it’s clean and tidy inside. All the staff are super friendly and helpful!

I very much enjoyed the learning through 'song' and loved hearing my children singing Mandarin around the house. My children loved the singing components and found it effortless to learn this way. I loved the dedication of the teachers to provide weekly feedback which included areas my children needed to practice and how best to advance their learning. One component for improvement is the timing of the class. We were coming from another school to attend the Panda Mandarin at John Wanless and had to sign out both my children early in order to make a 3:45pm start time. Personally, I would have found a 4:00 pm start time more convenient just from a commuting point of view and not having to miss regular class time. All in all, this is a program I would recommend and have recommended to friends and neighbors. I strongly believe that a second language such as Mandarin will prove to be increasingly important in a continually evolving work force.
