My daughter came across Aquatell researching water softeners suitable for Waterloo Region's very hard water. I'm handy with a torch so I was quite pleased I could self install. Shipping was less than a week. We ordered the Aqualux ProSoft Water Softener - 1.5 cubic feet, which is a Fleck brand. It was packaged extremely well. We unboxed and trial fitted everything just to make sure all the parts were there. Everything was fine except the brine tank. Someone drilled the mounting holes for the float tube in the wrong spot making it impossible to assemble the tube inside the tank. But this was easily fixed by drilling some new holes in the correct location. Once that was sorted I needed to make up 1/2 to 3/4 copper lines that go into some very slick quick connect fittings at the back of the valve body. Be very careful with these though. Watch out for burrs and make sure you've slid the line way past the O ring. On the valve body itself almost every single component has huge threads and assembles easily by hand. I only needed a wrench of one single nut. The machine is exceptionally well made and very well thought out. Programming was easy too. If you have decent mechanical skills installing this isn't too bad at all. Aquatell's videos are excellent help. Would 100% recommend.
