We ordered a brand-new air-conditioning unit from this company and there has been nothing but problems with it. The initial installation was a complete disaster. The service guy needed help with wiring and he said that he was waiting for a part. Then they swapped out parts from another unit. They also forgot to turn the gas back on to the furnace and had to come back out again. Following spring, the unit was cooling intermittently, they came out and the service guy told us that our furnace was old and we needed a new hot water tank and that is how we should fix our cooling issue. Called the office, and asked for another technician, they came out and fixed the issue. This spring, the air conditioner broke and needs a new part and it's not related to the service warranty which expired 1 year ago. I am beyond frustrated with the service from this company. I also spoke with the VP of the company to try and get this resolved and asked them to do the right thing." He was very arrogant and there was a woman yelling in the background while I was trying to express my frustration with the situation. We spent $7

“Inherited” Mackay heating from Huards in Welland. Fine at first but over the years the upsell tactics is annoying.Edit: it’s been 2 years and the last tech who came to my house was rude and didn’t seem overly competent. Nickel and dime for wanting an extra call to clean the blower fan which was done inclusively. I told your receptionist when I returned a service reminder that I had taken my business elsewhere and why. You had the opportunity to call me back.

Thanks for the great experience in dealing with our broken air conditioner. The first technician explained our options for repair or replacement which made our decision to replace very easy. Then Fred came and explained in easy to understand terminology what our purchase options were without pressure selling us. Finally Cotter & Ryan came today on time, answered all of our questions and completed the install in a very neat and professional manner. We would highly recommend Mackay for all of your heating and cooling needs.

MacKay Heating & Cooling removed our mid-efficiency gas furnace in July 2022 and replaced it with a Mitsubishi heat pump. Professional, friendly and efficient removal and installation. Terrific service and everything works great! Highly recommended!

Cordell, Jesse and Fred installed a Mitsubishi ductless mini split system for us that can heat or cool our house. Everything works and looks great! They are very professional and we are very happy with their service

Humidifier valve was blocked. I called them to replace the valve. They said minimum charge of $176.00. He came and opened the furnace, checked everything and finally said it must be the valve. I told him that is what I wanted in the first place. He said he has to talk to the office about options. He comes back in the house and says to replace valve will be another $600.00! To replace valve and line was $1,000 (approx) or replace humidifier $1,400. The humidifier is only one year old! I told him that is egregious and paid the minimum and said how disappointed I was.We then called Roto Rooter who came and replaced the valve and line for approximately $350.00..I will never deal with Mackay ever again!

Repair men and staff are very accommodating. Treated my mom like family! Recommended to everyone!
