Independent Tree Service

Had a tree down on my truck following a severe thunderstorm in Bigfork. Called Independent Tree Service early Sunday AM. Herb called me back almost immediately! After sending him a couple of pictures, he told me he would respond within the hour. Herb arrived and assessed the situation. Came up with a great plan which included jacking the tree straight up off my truck to minimize any damage. Herb was professional, knowledgeable, polite and customer service focused. Tree was removed and thankfully, no significant damage to my truck. I’m very pleased with ITS and highly recommend their services!

The owner was quick to respond to my inquiry. I’ve had a bit of a struggle getting a tree service to take on a large elm that was causing problems. Independent Tree Service looked at the tree and gave me an estimate within the timeframe they had promised. They also delivered their service within the timeframe they had promised. The staff was friendly and took care not to damage anything on my property. I will definitely recommend them to others.

Herb and his crew made being out of town property owners a breeze! My husband’s family owns a property on Swan Lake where two 100ft firs were about to topple over onto one of their small cabins...We originally called a guy known in the area to take on odd jobs, but when he looked at the situation he referred us directly to Independent Tree Service! My husband made a phone call and within a day or two they had an estimate ready. We live in Helena so wouldn’t be able to be on-site through this process and to add to that, there isn’t cell service either – but that didn’t seem to be a problem...When we showed up the next weekend, the job was done! Communication and service was like none other and we will definitely continue to do business with these guys!

We were very happy and pleased to see Herb make quick work of our three large elm trees. His clean up was top notch. He was very professional and extremely pleasant and easy to work with. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again for future work and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Excellent service! The owner and his crew did a fantastic job. Very quick to respond and communicate. Extremely professional all the way. Ours was not an easy job (Trimmed 4 huge Elms, took down 3 huge Elms, and a huge pine tree full of mistletoe). They had it done in less than a day and a half. That included bucking the wood, chipping and cleaning up all the debris. We had 3 bids, and these guys were the best price. PLUS... they're insured! Great work guys!

I called in to ask about firewood. He was able to deliver to my house the next day! He let me know when he was loading it and when he was on his way. Very nice guy and seemed to know trees very well as we were chatting during the delivery he was able to point out what logs were which trees and identifying the different trees on the property. I give 4 stars only because the firewood itself wasn't exactly prepped for camp fires. Lots of the logs are cut in half and relatively short, not to ideal for a camp fire. So I will buy an axe and get to chopping! It seems that the wood is from different fallen trees or pruned trees that he clears in his other services (I am assuming this) so I would just recommend as you're chopping them up put them in ideal firewood sized pieces, for me that would have brought the experience full circle. I really appreciate you coming out and would recommend to anyone in need of his service, really nice guy and professional.UPDATE: I spoke with Herb regarding the wood size and he said that from his experience of customers like larger pieces of wood for burning longer and I just got what people normally request but that they are able to do custom sizing on request. Sounds like this company really takes care of their customers interest. That makes all the difference, 5 stars.

Herb came out on his day off to help me and my fiance get our parrot down from a tree. He spent so much time trying different things and showing what it really means to be a great person. I would recommend this company to anyone. They customer service and compassion was amazing. He did this all free of charge. He just wanted to help and that to me is amazing.

So impressed with the work, quality, time, professionalism. Everything. Cannot wait for our next project, because something that would have taken my husband and I weeks to do on our own- even with the right equipment- this man came here and single handed in one day. He is literally Superman, but for yardscaping.
