Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill
Excellent staff, great food, and great entertainment.It was a Wednesday night and we were looking for a Jazz bar. The stars aligned and took us Upstairs.We arrived just before the band started playing and were kindly informed that there would be a cover charge for the show, added on to our bill. That was fine and we appreciated being informed so we went in.We didn't have reservations, which help you sit closer to the front, but we could still see the stage. We ordered a couple of drinks, and watched the place quickly fill up.The staff was rushed for the rest of the night. We wanted to wait a while to eat, which helped us out, and we enjoyed our drinks (the wine and Cafe Avril impressed) and the ambiance.We saw meals arriving pretty quickly all around. A lot of burgers were ordered - they did look very good, and make people happy, as did the other dishes we saw. We had pasta and salad and finished with some cider, all of which were delicious.The staff was friendly and attentive, and the show was nice. It was a jazz jam session, and a lot of the musicians connected very well on stage.If you are looking for a good jazz bar and to see a good show, here is a place to go.

Great jazz club. Excellent music. Delicious cuisine. Exceptional customer service. We highly recommend it and will definitely visit again on our next trip to Montreal!

Had an awesome night here! Great atmosphere, delicious food and a fantastic live music.The drink menu and wine selection were top notch and the food choices were hard to make! A good problem to have. Everything was very high quality and our server was great.As tourists in the city we felt like we stumbled into a local hangout and loved it. If you want to make this a stop — I would recommend making a reservation well in advance!

Everything was great. Went for a jazz duo on a Thursday. Food wasn’t what we anticipated but it was delicious nonetheless. Got the “Salmon Risotto” and although their menu does say risotto, they just mean rice. Regardless, was still very good. I got the gin martini, which was very very good. My husband got the bourbon smash which was also delicious ( I even thought so and I don’t drink bourbon).

I had the pleasure to visit this place to experience a flavour of my own culture. I was pleased with their organization, drink prices, friendliness of staff and of course the high quality of the musicians! Next time I'll go for dinner.
