They took away the residents library for offices. My sister used to love going there. Not fair as it's their home. It's stimulating for her & other cognitive well residents to read books & use the computers. They should really consider giving it back to the residents as they pay for it too.

This home has gone downhill so much in the past few years. Pandemic cannot be blamed because many of other competitive homes have gotten better or at least stayed stable not gone downhill. The poor residents are the ones suffering sadly.UPDATE: THE PERSON TO CONTACT LISTED BELOW EMAILS ME TO MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT JUST BECAUSE I EMAILED ONE OF HER COLLEAGUES. WHAT IF I WASN'T THE SAME RICK? WHY WOULD SHE ASSUME? RICK IS A POPULAR NAME. VERY ODD WAY TO ADDRESS A CONCERN.

Tried to contact the nursing home on several occasions regarding my mother. Ms Kizzia Tanguihan hasn't returned any of my phone calls. This is a terrible way to do business. She should not be working for Valleyview. If she can't handle the position, hire someone who can. She should not be in this role. Management should be aware of these issues.

I agree 100% with Dr Carl N, Taylor that say no one ever communicates back. I understand a pandemic but how hard is to reply? Not professional in my opinion. I heard great things about Valleyview Residence but now wondering if it has gone downhill. I look forward to hopefully seeing improvements in communication in the very near future.

UPDATE: Someone tells me to contact Elizabeth Bryce but she's the one that is ignoring the complaints & only responding to compliments. I had few complaints she ignored but another family member told me she replied to all their compliments. Easy way to get out of a complaint.. a generic reply the owner gives to anyone that put a bad rating here.They ignore emails that are valid complaints from family members. They only reply to emails complimenting & praising them.

The staff here are A M A Z I N G - the nurses, attending doctors, the office staff along with the PSW/volunteers are all wonderful and truly WORK HARD at providing the best care and I can't believe ratings of a single star have been left because of missed phone calls...are we so lacking in judgement to realize that long term care facilities (keep in mind-this is a really good home compared to so many in the GTA) are stretched really thin and the main focus especially during the pandemic has been to provide the best care for their residents. Truthfully, the rating should be ALL ABOUT THE CARE GIVEN TO CLIENTS, the cleanliness of the home (10 stars for both), the essentials: food and well-being/happiness of its residents. Yes, that's what should be rated - not the fact that they are too busy to return calls. They keep us informed regularly via email and attend to my requests timely so if you're going to analyze them on missed phone calls then write to the MINISTRY OF HEALTH and demand that Long Term Care be funded better so that your phone calls are returned promptly. Every communication I have had with the team is timely and informative. The care given here is on point" and yes

I regret to have to do this, but I find it very unprofessional to leave people unanswered. I have tried to phone this home so many times over the past few months to speak to someone and cannot get answers. I have left messages numerous times. And let me repeat this has been over several months!!!! I have yet to get a call back. I understand everyone is busy in times like these, but that is no excuse on why they can't return phone calls over this long of a period. It's ridiculous. Hence I am leaving this business a one star.

My mother has been at Valleyview for 4 years and my experience has been very positive. My mom is on 4 West and I have found the majority of staff on the floor to be caring and committed. The current Administrator, Elizabeth Bryce, is very effective in her role. In my engagements with her, the well-being and safety of the residents and staff have always been her top concern. She is reflective and honest when it comes to areas that need improvement and seems quick to address gaps when needed. I have also found her to be very open to feedback and and to working collaboratively with families to address issues. The home also does a great job with cleaning and sanitation.
